Yeah both rocket and groot are all CG all the time. Seems very costly. But who knows maybe itll work.
Tech must have advanced a lot. We had a whole cast of cg enhanced apes in the PotA films and that would have cost silly money a decade ago.

I remember years ago reading about how CGI would free up independent film-makers to make whatever they want. Instead of building physical sets, they'll be able to film a couple actors in front of a green screen and put them in whatever environment they like. And, in theory, there should be a point at which those digital sets are less expensive than physical sets.

I don't know if technology is to the point it's less expensive than more traditional methods, but for a company like Disney and Marvel for whom digital sets and characters are becoming more common and they have a lot of models already built in their computers, they may be getting to the point they can do a lot with relatively limited budgets.
Good point. Whenever you revisit an existing location or deal with an existing race or super-powered character in the MCU, the cost is far less than starting from concept,

TBH we don't know if Marvel will really proceed with GOTG3, because the firing of James Gunn will be a very sensitive issue as the cast is very loyal to Gunn. Maybe not all of them are like Dave Bautista but I'm sure they won't like to make a movie without him. They won't risk breaching their contract, of course, but I doubt Feige will want an environment where the cast is disgruntled, either. I just hope that Bradley Cooper & Vin Diesel will reprise their VO role in the Disney+ series, because it would suck to recast them.

Its definitely happening. Production was delayed to February 2021 (This could change though if they get Travis Knight) while they look for a new director and then spend the next few years figuring out what direction to take since its up in the air whether or not if or any of the current guardians cast will return they are all incredibly loyal to Gunn and Marvel will likely honour any of their decisions to not return like Hugo Weaving. You don't want an actor phoning it in.

Interestingly enough they've pushed it back far enough to where they will be able to use some of the Fox characters if they wanted (Silver Surfer). Adam Warlock will be crucial ether way.

And If Tom Hiddleston is returning as Loki for his series then I see no reason why Cooper and Diesel wouldn't return. The ones Id be worried about not returning are Bautista,Pratt and Saldana. Who all have big franchises to fall back on.

Got some updates on Brazil approval.

https://seekingalpha.com/news/3411712-mlex-disney-fox-get-brazil-deal-ok-two-weeks

A speedy process in Brazil means that Disney (DIS +1.7%) could get approval there for its $71B deal with Fox (FOX +1.1%, FOXA +1.3%) within two weeks, MLex Market Insight says.

The Tribunal there has its last session of the year scheduled for Dec. 5, and doesn't reconvene again until Jan. 30.

But a recommendation there with a satisfactory consent decree already drafted could result in a decision to proceed, MLex says.

Even a successful decision could be appealed by third parties. And regulator CADE has until March 18 to issue an initial decision on the deal.

For as challenging as Brazil has ostensibly been, this is certainly (mostly) good news! Hoping the approval goes smoothly.

What franchis does saldana have? Star treks dead, creed?

Haven't looked at the cast for avatar tbh.
It's a shame about Star Trek. I was hoping we'd be getting regular films with that new cast. I think if Gunn had we around most if the others would want to keep coming back for more Guardians films. We'll have to see how enthused they are with the new guy.

And JP is probably good for Pratt to be involved with but it doesn't portray him as well as Star-Lord in Guardians films.

Disney with the fox merger is the big player in hollywood. The actors will really have to think before they burn bridges.

we got a Lion King teaser before Avengers 4 a movie thats further away to lol i think we should expect a far from home teaser in December from Sony.

I don't think they'll miss the chance to tease FFH in front of a spiderman movie.

How come that turkey still looks like the outside of a turkey after Wolverine has sliced off a drumstick from the side? The bit he that's left where the drumstick connected should now look like the inside of a turkey with the meat.

it is indeed.

Nice.

Hugh said he had about 600 figurines. I need to see them all. @Feige, don't hesitate to invite me over for an all expenses paid trip to show me around your geek palace. :funny:

It looks like that because it's way overcooked, of course. It's giving off smoke. That's what happens when you put your bird in the oven and then run off to fight Sentinels for six hours.

I don't really see Woody as Carnage really, it just isn't what I imagine Carnage to be in my head.

Caleb Landry Jones would've been a perfect choice for Carnage IMO

I wouldn’t have picked him but I’m sure he has the range to pull it off.
