To be honest, I'm probably inclined to believe it. But only because it's Fox we're talking about and the deal is so close to closing. On the other hand, this was the guy who said season 2 of the Punisher would be bad, and we can all see how that's turning out....

Seriously, Fox should just release it as it is instead of wasting more money trying to fix it.

Maybe they're fixing it so that it won't have any reference to mutants or X-Men but can be released as a low-budget generic horror flick either on the streaming Disney channel or on the big screen. Maybe it won't even be called The New Mutants by the time it comes out.
