If Venom bombs, Avi Arad will be like "Ok, let's try a different variation of a Venom movie next year instead!" His reasoning will be like someone sitting on a toilet trying to get out a turd in the wind. If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. :o

Avi Arad never tries a different variation of anything. He just does the same thing over and over again and is shocked when he doesn't get a different result. That's why ASM was the same origin story Sam Raimi just did a decade earlier. Arad doesn't know how to do anything else. If he makes another Venom movie after this one, I can practically guaranteed it will be yet another watered-down PG-13 anti-hero Venom designed to sell toys to the kiddies. That's all he ever does.

Well it will still be a variation. It's not like he's going to get Tom Hardy all over again to make another turd in the wind with the exact same plot and cast. Don't you think sometime during filming, Hardy is going to be thinking "this film seems awfully familiar but I can't quite put my finger on it"? :o

I think it is 7:30 Pacific...so 10:30 EST...but I could be wrong.

I haven't seen a social media reaction from Campea. Did he not get invited?

I was thinking of seeing a star is born anyway. Cooper and Gaga have oscar potential imo.

Yes. Bradley Cooper can sing.

Same. It was really easy to decide:

To me it's really obvious that the Producers of ASIB really cared about the material and wanted to make a great movie, where as the Producers of Venom just saw dollars signs and didn't give a damn about the source material or the quality of the movie.

How long till the rotten tomatoes reveal?

Rotten Tomatoes should stop playing games with their damn scores. They only seem to do this for films that are going to be divisive (Justice League, Venom). The practice makes one wonder whether they make side deals with certain studios to withhold negative scores as long as possible.

There is still a review embargo on the film. Rotten tomatoes can't give a score till the critics release their reviews. Nothing between them and studio.

Leaked documents showed Marvel offered something like 5% from CW, Homecoming, IW, and Avengers 4 in exchange for the rights reverting back. Sony said no. But yeah I could see a deal like that, if the rights revert.

Sony has some leverage, yeah. They own the live action rights to very popular characters. The question is how much do they think they have vs how much they really have. Marvel's sandbox is about to double, at least. Sony has to make it worth it to them.

Man, turning down that deal was incredibly stupid of Sony. Just 5% of IW's gross is more than Sony's studio has earned in the last five years. :lmao:

Oh, I thought that the embargo was up today. In JL's case, RT held the tomatometer reveal for hours so they could use it to pimp a horrible "show" they had. The fact that RT got a lot of backlash over the scores of previous DCEU movies may have had something to do with the delay.

BTW, A Star Is Born is running special ads during The Avengers on FX. I haven't seen anything special from Venom but it's probably out there.

Can you post those leaked documents here? I’m quite curious to see them.

Maybe someone could clarify but I'm sure I remember reading some where that Sony and Marvel would sit down again in 2020 to discuss Marvel getting the rights back or something about Marvel getting the rights back in 2020.

All the moves are contingent upon the close of the $71.3 billion deal, which will see Disney take ownership of all Fox assets except for the broadcast network, local TV stations, Fox News and FS1. While some insiders have indicated a deal close is possible by the end of 2018, the official forecast is for early 2019.

New Fox Promotes Five Top Executives Ahead Of Disney Deal Close

Some of us did say that we think SHH might get an early XMas gift. Brazil hasn't indicated they're gonna do the 6 month delay. EU hasn't indicated they're gonna do the 4 month delay. I mean still some outstanding countries and updates, but Iger should let us know where things are when they report their FY financials in early November.
