The Rebooted "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) Thread - Part 6

Yeah it's definitely just as much about Doom, Galactus, the Surfer and other heralds, Kang, the remaining Skrull characters such as Super Skrull and Paibok, Annihilus and the Negative Zone, Molecule Man, the Badoon, a whole bunch of other Alien races, etc. than it is about the Four themselves.

Seeing the whole MCU take on Galactus Dormammu Doctor Doom Loki Red Skull The Mandarin would be bigger than Infinity War

I have been very vocal against the spiderman deal as the terms are known. Especially now that Feige has apparently said it was just a one off (i.e. Spidey for CW and Homecoming). They are dealing again for IW. Stupid deal that benefits Sony a lot more than Marvel/Disney.

Such a deal would be even stupider for FF, which do not have the following or merchandise power that Spiderman has.

Could Fantastic Four be done as a Netflix series? I mean logistically yes but special effects wise it might suffer (won't look as good as it should) without the adequate budget.

Yes. A netflix/hulu series (one or two seasons) could work great as an origin story (i.e. college years and before they became the FF). They could do that, significantly limit the special effects needed, get people familiarized and in love with the characters again, and rebuild goodwill towards the brand after Fox messed it up. They could do it before going to the big screen (which is what they might be doing with the defenders).

I'd want something more like BBC Sherlock, three feature-length episodes each season (of course with far less time between seasons than Sherlock); FF is at it's best in an adventure-of-the-week serial, and a movie every couple of years would barely scratch the surface of those potential adventures. Plus, more chances for Dr. Doom to get up in everybody's business.

Pretty interesting that they're starting to come out with X-Men products

Well they have the X-Men TV partnership with Fox now, so the relationship has definitely improved.

It almost seems like they're taking the piss out of Fox. Like they saw that dull, dreary, ponderous, joyless trailer and turned this:

That trailer was really good though. Maybe we'll finally have a true Wolverine movie.

It hasn't been a complete moratorium on X-Men products. Hasbro just released a new line of X-Men legends. And they had another wave of X-Men legends a little while ago. They aren't going to stop making Wolverine toys no matter what.

Not my cup of tea. But that's fine - I wouldn't put money in Fox's pocket even if it looked amazing.

That's exactly how I feel. Except nothing about that trailer looks all that great anyway. The reluctant, wondering, nomad, has always been Logan's MO the last 16 years add the post-apocalyptic world that was kinda in DOFP and there you go....... Instant "MEH!"

Even if there was a possibility of FOX rebooting the series before the reversion date, the fact that the FF is way down on the studio's list of priorities is certainly good news.

Yup, could be a good sign for a reversion. Getting the X-Men fixed will be their focus rather than the dead FF franchise.

I don't want a reboot unless Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios are handling it.

True. This could be a kill 2 birds with one stone kinda event. Have Fox dwell on revamping the X-men franchise using the same moron who wrote 4stic. Basically turning X-men to Xstic, while FF rights revert back to Marvel due to non-use. Then rinse and repeat once Xstic flops!

Given its massive success of Deadpool this would probably be an attempt to bring this new Xmen series of films more in continuity with the upcoming DP films. Im guessing they will give the X films a break for the time being. Logan will mark the end of this current Xverse timeline. Maybe this will give them time to come up with a plan to collaborate with Marvel.

FOX is smart to just focus on the X brand and leave FF the **** alone.

I feel like those articles are overstating the truth. Kinberg is still on board, and it seems like they want to bring back the three main leads, but they have to re-negotiate with them.

However, after what the last movie made, it might be cost prohibitive to get everyone back.

I'd honestly make Lawrence a cameo. Just state that she adopted Rogue and have her drop Rogue off at the X-Mansion.

The only thing I want to see is more of Tye Sheridan's Cyclops and Turner's Jean Grey.

If there is some sort of reboot and it's not with Marvel Studios, I hope they keep them around.
