You are tempting fate. Say his name one more time and he'll emerge from beneath his bridge to troll again. :cmad:

But get him to say his name backwards and he'll disappear. :o

He did troll in style, though. Never forget his clams that Feige is the Antichrist

Everyone thought that the poor reception for both X3 and X-Origins: Wolverine would effect the entire X-men franchise but after nearly 10 years, it's still going strong. Sure, FOX may have hit a road block with Apocalypse but recent word of mouth says that Logan will be another critical darling next to Deadpool and DOFP. As for Simon Kinberg, he himself said that it was never announced that he will direct X-Men: Supernova and that someone made a premature statement about his role in the series so we shouldn't believe anything until FOX says otherwise.

I think that's an overstatement. X was starting to build steam with FC and DoFP, but suffered a setback with Apocalypse. Logan looks good and I'm a first day viewer, but Jackman isn't going to be around too much longer I don't think. Another bad X movie and where to then? This is not a studio that has built up the goodwill over the last 8 years like Marvel has. X is in a dangerous stage IMO and somewhat fragile.

Jackman has confirmed this is his last time playing Wolverine. Same thing for Stewart, no more Xavier for him.

Fox has some very good actors. McAvoy and Fassbender in particular, but I see some potential potholes down the road for the X franchise. They just don't seem to be able to develop any consistency and I think people get turned off by that. If Marvel were to put out a real stinker (which I don't see happening), I think people would generally give them a pass because their movie line up has been very solid for a long time. No one else has that public trust or goodwill built up like that.

Ive never visited SHH until this year.

The internet community is bigger than SHH. Just because I share a point of view with whoever that is doesn't make me him or his puppet. Calling someone a troll from this site in the past is not the way to turn the bullet around. :whatever:

I can't remember whether I said it in this thread or another one, but yeah, I'm concerned going forward with regards to the X-Men franchise. For the most part, I've really liked it since Origins. Apocalypse was the worst one since and even it was more mediocre than outright terrible. At their best, they've been very good. But there seems to be a lack of a cohesive plan going forward, and that worries me. They've proven me wrong before, but how often are they going to luck out? They've certainly had bombs in the pass (ex. Fant4stic).

But even more than that, what really REALLY worries me is that it seems like going forward Simon Kinberg is gaining more influence over the franchise, and based on his history that's a great cause for concern.

I guess you didn't get the memo. Kinberg is a genius and it's great to have him on board. :cwink:

I thought I had read somewhere that Fassbender most likely wouldn't be coming back, but I haven't been following it closely enough to know for sure.

... and Trank and Kinberg certainly showed a talented cast can't save a bad script and director.

Maybe Kinberg will film it like Bowfinger with Steve Martin where, in order to get MBJ and the rest of the cast back, he'll just film them candidly without them knowing, cornering them at various opportune times and then piecing together a film like that.

Another name added to the growing list of former Fox Marvel actors who now say they'd like to do a Marvel but not Fox film:

“I won’t be in it!” he said of the rumoured Fantastic Four sequel, adding: “Truth is, Doom is an incredible bad guy. They just keep trying to force him into the Fantastic Four. They just need to move it out because he smashes up Thor and Iron Man and they get wasted. Doom is a monster, but my Doom was not, so that is that.” Kebbell is spot on there and a big issue is definitely the fact that he was unnecessarily shoehorned into the team again.

However, it turns out that the British actor would return as Doom under the right circumstances and those unsurprisingly involve Marvel Studios. “Yeah, if they lend him out like a footballer. They do with Spider-Man!” Fox only has so long to sit on the Fantastic Four rights revert, but if that does happen, it won’t be for another couple of Phases, sadly…

Not much of a surprise, I would say that most of the cast would have to be forced to come back for a sequel yet would come running if Marvel was in charge. Also Kebbell mentioned in the past that his brothers were big Doom fans so he is aware of how great a character Doom could be in done properly.

It seems like if the actors worked together, the studio would have a very difficult time corralling them all at the same time. I would think they would have to book them well in advance individually and I would further imagine that each actor has movies or work scheduled in the future. If they don't actively work to line up their time slots, it would be very difficult to get them in at around the same time. It's a much smaller group than is going to be in IW so I would think it's more important to have everyone on set.

It's starting to sound very much like another Fox Four would be yet another reboot or they'd just have to replace actors. Neither option sounds very appealing.....well, to be honest, another Fox Four movie doesn't sound very appealing no matter what.

What actors would sign on to another Fox FF film after what they've done? What director would sign on knowing not just Fox's history with the property but that they would immediately become enemy #1 to people like us just for agreeing to do it?

Even if Fox decides they want to do it, what reasonably competent people will agree to do it?

Can you imagine the reaction from the internet if Fox were to announce another attempt at FF? Do you think anybody at Fox would have the balls to do this?

The deck is stacked against them before it would even get off the ground. Who would even invest in that? Im just sitting patiently waiting for reversion whether its next week or 2022.

So, within the Fantastic Four "universe" what all related characters are included in that umbrella? I guess the Inhumans were never included, or were purchased back.

I'd be content with the FF being guest heroes in a future Avengers film (including any solo spinoffs), whenever the rights get returned to Marvel.

We don't know for sure, but it's probably a fairly small list.

Doom
Galactus
Silver Surfer
Annihilus
Moleman
Puppet Master
Kang
Super Skrull (but not Skrulls in general)
Alicia Masters
Frankie Raye (Nova)
Willie Lumpkin
Franklin Richards

Are all ones that we know with near certainty from specific comments (or inclusion in previous films).

Likely also included (since they are fairly unique to the FF):

Mad Thinker
Red Ghost
Wyatt Wingfoot
Agatha Harkness (I'd love to see her on film at some point)
Boris
Hauptman
Valeria Richards
Wizard
Paste Pot Pete (but probably not Sandman or Medusa)
Diablo
Dragon Man
Impossible Man
Molecule Man
Psycho Man

Yeah, and now imagine you're a talented director looking for your next project. You've got several interesting offers. Are you going to even consider taking FF with Fox?

And if you're a director who has no other options, what's that say?

Lol, Kebell thinks that Namor is called Captain Nemo.

And he was very quick to dismiss any notion of him coming back. He wasn't even diplomatic about it at all. I want to see what Miles Teller's reaction would be.

I was so disappointed to discover they had Kang. I assumed Marvel had him. Im surprised Marvel had Ronan.

Yeah, I would have thought they'd have Ronan and not Kang, but I guess Kang is tied into the whole Nathaniel Richards thing.

And it's frustrating to see characters like Ronan, Black Panther, Klaw, Inhumans etc. who all started in FF getting better treatment than they are.:cmad:

Was it ever specifically stated that Ego was part of FF? I thought they said they traded for him but I'm not sure if they specified (I guess presumably he would be with FF).

That sort of makes you wonder if the trade was bigger than we know and some other characters went back and forth.

Ego is part of Fox. And Trank. And Kinberg. It's their egos that have been getting in the way. :o
