The Avengers The Robert Downey Jr/Iron Man Thread

Iron Man in this movie was awesome as always. RDJ is truly irreplacable as him, IMO. Here he may have been at his best with him having such spot-on chemistry with the rest of the cast and having some great comic timing mixed in with more serious moments.

What song was booming when Tony showed up in the middle of the
Cap/Loki fight?
Was it Back in Black? I couldn't tell.

Pepper was looking pretty damn sexy in her opening scene wearing short shorts.

Something about seeing a girl dressed down I find very attractive. Even more so with Pepper since all we've ever seen her in up until this point was either in business attire or a fancy dress.

I agree. I think she was extremely sexy and even more attractive than she has been in the solo Iron Man movies.

Plus she was barefoot, just goes to show how much more comfortable she is with Tony and that they don't think being in a relationship is weird at all. yay Them! Do they even have a legal shipper name?

I think she was barefoot so that she wouldn't be taller than RDJ when standing next to him. That's why there were so many barefoot shots. But I agree that it shows her being comfortable, plus it made her look even sexier with both that and her long legs on display. The only thing sexier would've been having her in her panties and a T-shirt instead of just short shorts, but what's the likelihood she's going to keep walking around like that, especially when Coulson comes along? :woot:

I really enjoyed the scene when Tony Stark used his engineering knowledge and his armor in a non-combat mission to repair the turbine on the Helicarrier with the assistance of Captain Rogers.

I must say, the scene with Tony suiting up as he fell was one of the best in the movie. It might even be my favorite part. Everything from the music to the look on his face as the armor formed around him was awe-inspiring... This man is a genius, he personally created that pod and it actually worked perfectly. That's seriously just too awesome!

I was watching his interview on Ellen and I can't believe Robert doesn't have a Hollywood star.

Really surprised that he doesn't. I mean really? He has more than earned it if you ask me.

Did anyone notice
The wrist lasers on Mark VII arent 1 time use only, and after some parts of the armor jettisoned off in the space scene, IM's rib section is now gold with vents.

Question: if RDJ signed a 6 picture deal, does his appearance in TIH count as 1? If so, TA2 would be his last contracted appearance

I still have no idea why Stark doesn't like being handed things. It carried over from IM2, but is it supposed to symbolize that he's had to work hard for what he's accomplished? Or is it something like a peeve of his? Confused about that.

I think it's more of a quirk than anything else

I think its kind of a little nod to Howard Hughes who he's based on.

He's a businessman and being handed things usually means work. He's having a nice moment with Pepper and here comes Coulson with a dossier. That's how I saw it.

Wow really? Scarlett just got one.

Any actor can get a star as long as you fork over about $25,000 to "purchase" it. Not even Clint Eastwood has one because he thinks it's not worth buying and sees no relevance about having one.

Why do you think ScarJo got one just before TA opened up? coincidence? I think not...

I thought these actors were automatically given one as an appreciation of their contribution to the film world, not that they had to purchase it. Clint Eastwood ought to have one.

That means any actor can get one who has the money. Kevin Pennington could get one if he's willing to pay for it.

Oh I didn't know that. Alright it's worthless then.

That's why it didn't make sense how Scarlett just got one over Downey.

Many times, it is the fans of a certain actor that raises the money for the star of their choice.
