Can't tell if Nicholas Cage or Gollum. :hmm

What do you guys think of how the colors were presented int he trailer?

After seeing the trailer, I take back every bad thing I ever said about the suit. It looks amazing, and I'm really glad that the colors look brighter this time around.

Looked fine to me. Looks quite blue, red, and gold in normal lighting, and looks metallic in certain lighting conditions. Looks great.

Yeah I'm happy as long as there are some scenes where we can see the suit's normal colors. The cinematography this time around is more varied and enhances the mood of individual scenes. It was too one-note in MOS.

Just a matter of saturation here.

The colours didn't look that bright in those :

OMG!!!
black boots???!!! and the design of the red briefs is hideous!
it looks way too plastic like a plastic toy.

I've always liked the look of the suit but I feel they've "padded up" Cavil too much for the film this time.

The body-shaping was less obvious in MoS, in the trailers now he looks like he's absolutely popping.

ALL that color and they went with black boots? That belt and crotch cup is VERY poorly designed. Lazy even. If this was the final, I can see why they locked this movie up. Poor guy, as much as he really wanted this role... He is NoT Superman. Not even a little. Besides his face, his posture is REALLY bad. Makes me sad.

Boots look blue to me.

Either way the whole thing is hideous as all hell.

The decision to give him blue boots is bizarre, but the decision to give him tanga bikini briefs is unfathomable. And I though Brandon Routh's hotpants were shocking...

Well then. That's... Well then.

EDIT: Somebody manip him standing next to Keaton's Batman. I wanna see Tim Burton's DCEU. :D

If this was the final,

Apparently, no. You can see traces of a black marker for improvements here and there (belt, codpiece, ribs) on other pictures. It was just a lighting test here.

Speaking of Nic Cage, today marks 18 years since the events featured in the classic Con Air. Fun fact.

Well, it was a good decision to scrap that Nic Cage movie !

Having just watched the death of superman lives. Im absolutely mortified to think that we could have gotten that turd of a film. What upset me the most was the way in which Burton and cage spent the entire costume test just mocking the superman we know and love. If you have no love for that character then stay away from him.

I personally think it looks far better than in MOS. The suit physique is just overall much better achieved this time, way more organic. And like I said above, they have even added some muscle movement in post to make it look like a real body fit suit.

It's not so much extra padding as even Cavill being much larger this time. He himself confirmed that he's bigger and his trainer said he added twice as much muscle mass to his frame this time around. So everything's just bigger this around, specially the chest and arms which even casual photos showed were huge this time.

The "popping" effect is mainly due to the cranked up muscle definition. Like even his freakin' leg muscles are rippling when he's just casually walking into the courtroom in the trailer! But I think it looks great actually, looks very arresting and comic-booky. And Snyder always said he prefers a very muscular Superman and this look most importantly fits the movie narrative. He's being portrayed as a god in the movie, someone who just inspires awe and intimidation in people, so kinda appropriate for him story-wise to look so god-like.

As bad as SR was, Burton's film would've been even worse IMO, simply because no body seemed to know what they wanted to do with the film.
Nic Cage looked horrible as superman and suit, while alright for the time, looks like cheap cos-play compared to the MOS suit, which is perfection!
