Adi is a god.

Also, I entirely approve of this. This image should be in every post. It's just right all over. Even the belt is sweet.

Somebody send it to Lindy Hemming; she needs to get on this now.

Edit: on second thought, I suppose if they tried this is could just come out looking like the BB suit with a different (better) set of lines on the torso. They'd have to think hard about using different materials or techniques, because the easiest way to do it would just be to carve it out of rubber like they've always done, which would be double lame.

Your edit beat me to it, Saint.

I think that looks like a variation on the BB suit, at least from the waist up. It looks like he's wearing leather pants though. Not a big fan of the lines on the cowl, though--too "streamlined new-sports-car design" for my taste.

Half Begins, half Returns. And not all that different from what we saw in the BB promo art really. I've seen manips that have come closer to the mark, frankly.

"The mark" being...?

That is actually very similar to what I hope Catwoman’s outfit looks like. With the batsuit, I’m one of the very few people who think it was fine the way it was in TDK. Honestly, it wouldn’t bother me if it remained the same in TDK. Even so, that picture is amazing.

It's a strange one, but with the colour scheme Adi's employed there I get a slight whiff of movie Night-Owl. Not that it's a criticism in any way, shape of form - just an observation.

God, I keep looking at that costume and start starting at it lovingly.

Pretty sad. :D

Meh, looks like a slightly different designed Begins suit with weird fabric-like pants.

Art's good, but the suit isn't anything special or different.

Yeah, that's sweet! It would come down to the execution as far as seeing something like that on screen. I'm not a big fan of the cowl, at least for a movie suit, but that's my only gripe.

Only to those that don't know what looks good.

I'm sorry, but that is about as arrogant a statement as any I've ever seen on these boards. I like the trunks, you don't, that's fine, we all have different tastes, but don't try to come off as if your personal tastes are the only correct ones. They're not.

I have to say that my biggest problem with the TDK Batsuit is the way the cape hangs on the costume. I prefer Batman's cape to be more of a cloak, as opposed to hanging straight down on the back, like this drawing by Jim Lee:

It evokes the image of Dracula, which reflects the characters dark, yet heroic nature.
Christopher-Lee-Dracula-cape.jpg

It tells you that Batman is very different from heroes like Superman, and it represents the deception he uses to hide his similarities to the archetypal superhero, and that he walks the line between archetypal superhero and Punisher-style anti-hero.

Furthermore, in some ways, it's more practical than it going straight back, because, when draped over his body, it breaks up Batman's human outline, assisting in camouflage. Whereas Superman's cape is decoration designed to look cool blowing the wind, Batman's cloak is a tool for psychological impact, gliding, and camouflage. Thoughts?
