Here's another that demonstrates even more wrapping.

And there's still even more room for further wrapping.

Oh dear, his nose looks like a shovel in this shot.

It's the lighting. It catches it in a bad way.

There are other shots that it looks perfect.

Yes, it is a very "beaky" design. It was a mistake to sculpt the nostrils, I think. Better just to have the nose formed by sloping angles from the eyes and cheeks, much as the B89 costume did.

I don't see a need for a wrap-around cape whatsoever. It isn't as integral to the Batman character as many people here seem to think.

From his earliest incarnations Batman was wrapping that cloak around him COMPLETELY.

It's pretty damned integral. In fact, the only era where that was noticably absent a good portion of the time was the 50s-60s lighter era of Batman. By the 70's it was drapping his shoulders and completely covering his body whenever he was standing still, or even seated.

I have to say the mesh under the plating of the TDK costume is one aspect I do really like. If only it didn't have all those random puzzle armor pieces it'd be far better.

Keep the material but the armor plating needs more streamlining. That's the most we can probably hope for in a new suit (if there is one).

I've always thought the best way to go would be for the armor plating to be underneath the mesh fabric.

Whats the possiblity of Batman needing a robot to defeat Bane? I do not see Batman taking the venom. However, because of Wayne Tech, I could see Fox building a robot that he fits into just like from the Alien movie. If Nolan decided to do that, wonder what it would look like?

But his cape needs to hang over the shoulders at least some of the time. It's a big part of his look. It was completely absent in TDK.
i have to disagree, i know this for a FACT that the cape did hang over the shoulders in one time with TDK suit, at the final scene where Dent take the gordons into hostage. But the angle and lighting which was preety dark made it hardly noticeable. Can anybody capture the final scene where Bats talk to Two-Face?

It'd just be Bale with one of those old TV antennas on his head. I know now what I have to become to beat men like him: Captain Radioshack. Nununuuuu.

I'd say slim to none.

That is very similar to a helicopter pic posted in one of the news threads.

I was thinking about this the other day.... trunks. Do they serve a function? Yes, yes they do. They cover the inevitable crotch sweat.

The TDK suit is innovative. First of its kind, completely unique in design and function. The first batsuit to incorporate a defense system, actual lenses, armor AND a type of fabric.

It's a beauty.
You almost had me convinced there, but then you had to go and bring aesthetics into the equation... and off came the bag :shivers:

I am and have always been convinced that they couldve made a suit from the same materials as TDK allowing mobility, but still looking awesome and not a jigsaw Mr. Puzzle piece Biker Knight Man suit.

If it helps you could think of it in the same way steve irwin used to call crocodiles beauties.

that took you all night to come up with didn't it.

For a lot of us it did. What looks good is subjective, of course.

But the fact is there is no big outcry about the TDK suit. It's only the same complaints surfacing from the same little group of people who frequent this thread.

Personally I find most of the criticisms to be hyperbole.

This, a lot this.

This image would be really perfect for a manip Ive been wondering about for a while, eliminate all the latex covered spots on the pants in this photo and I wonder how the suit would look as all mesh material??? I have zero photoshop skills, any takers???

And? What of it? Nobody here is making any sort of numbers argument or claiming any sort of majority, so this seems like a largely meaningless statement (and nobody has the data to make such a claim anyway).

Frankly, it's sort of silly to walk in and say "Well, most people like it." Yeah, and I think it's crap. Most people like the Transformers movies, too. The numbers aren't really meaningful either way.

Numbers are meaningful when it comes to movies. Particularly regarding opinions. It was large numbers of negative opinions on Batman Returns being too dark that led us to Schumacher's more colorful Batman despite Returns being a financial success. Clearly the suit has been accepted by the fan base and the general public. Otherwise a noticeable backlash would have been seen, like with the shaky camera fight scenes from Begins or the bat voice in TDK.

The TDK suit gets no such backlash. It gets none at all. With the level of criticism some throw at it in here, you'd swear Nolan put nipples on the costume.

That's my point.
