This would be perfect.

What's crappy about it? It's a good faithful adaptation of the suit with some cool detail thrown in.

The straps on the arms and legs are pointless and distracting. It's better when the entire boot and glove is black. The top of the boots look worse straight across instead of shaped into a peak. There's also that weird Borat bikini shaped thing that doesn't seem to serve any purpose. The symbol looks like it's been drawn from memory by someone who isn't really a fan. The ears are too small.

Yeah...not a fan of that thing craigdbfan posted.

With the exception of the ears which are a matter of taste that varies from batfan to batfan, those are all severely minor details that could be changed without effecting the suit in any major way. So I don't really see how it's crappy, just has a few small details that you would want to see changed. Hell, I agree about the shape of the bat within the oval and the boots.

If they ever were to go the "spandex/tights" route, I'd want this. Not over or under-designed, faithful, and looks good.

I think the suit is great for live action. The outfit is just like the Arkham suit except it's not skin-tight. It looks like a gray uniform. The utility belt is definitely military inspired. I like the idea of having the gauntlets and shin guards strapped on. The cape looks perfect.... however I'd change the cowl and make the ears longer. I'd have him wear a bullet proof vest under his gray uniform. Let's face it, it's time to move on from the rubber suits. Not even TDK suit is that realistic. A "realistic" Batman would never carry around a 200 pound suit (plus accessories). Instead of making Batman look "teh awesume~!" for the kids or trying to make him look like a life sized action figure they should start from scratch and make Batman look the way you'd expect a real person to dress if he's going out to walk into a war zone.

I'm not a fan of Captain America but I must say.... at least the good folks working on the film got the outfit right instead of going with the typical rubber suit look.

If I were to change all of those details, I'd end up with a more or less standard version. Since that redesign needlessly makes a mess of the traditional batsuit, it's crappy.

Would anyone else like to see the cowl with the ears curving backwards, like B:TAS, rather than forward like most film cowls? I was recently reading No Man's Land and Rich Burchett did work on that that took his style from the B:TAS comics but made the cowl look more real while maintaining that backward curve.

And thank god DC decided to get rid of that years ago. Bruce Wayne is normal now, he considers Dick his son, he loves him, even if he never says it out loud. Even if he knows Jason has been damaged by his whole life/death experience, he still invited him to join the family after his death, even though that shattered his psyche, he sees Tim as a son, and sees him as the true worlds greatest detective. It's not like he just takes in strays and lets them leave, he never wanted Dick to leave, he never wanted Cass to leave and he even put what was best for Damian over what was nessacarily for Gotham.

If Bruce didn't want to work with people why would he:

Let Alfred be the caretaker of the mission?
Take in 5 Robins?
3 Batgirls?
Several other vigilantes?
Become best friends, near enough brothers, with Superman and The Flash?
Form the Outsiders?
Join the Justice League?
Join JLI?
Form the club of Heroes?
Form Batman, Incorporated?

The first truth of Batman:

"I was never alone."

And yet we see Bruce as an eccentric loner in each and every Batman movie thats ever come out. Its been a constant theme. Why would you want it any other way? I dont want Bruce to become a boyscout like Supes. I want him to be the character that ive always loved, the man who has an extremely hard time trusting anyone and letting anyone get close. The man who is obsessed with fighting crime, to the point that he neglects his own personal life. I dont want Bruce to chill in the Batcave and then head upstairs to feed his child with a pacifier. Because thats what you make it sound like..that Bruce is a family man, and loves his family time. While he might have formed all those groups, he has always preferred to work alone. You couldnt be more wrong about the character in that sense.

Batman '66- Alfred, Robin, Gordon, O, Hara.
Batman 89- Gordon, Dent, Alfred.
Batman Returns- Gordon, Dent, Alfred
Batman Forever- Gordon, Alfred, Robin.
Batman & Robin- Gordon, Alfred, Robin, Batgirl.
Batman Begins- Alfred, Fox, Rachel, Henri Ducard (when training).
The Dark Knight- Alfred, Fox, Dent, Rachel.
The Dark Knight Rises- Alfred, Fox, Gordon, Blake (possibly) Hart (possibly).

You know what happened when Bruce was the biggest loathsome dick in the world, that you so crave? He helped almost destroy the universe. He almost got Nightwing killed, he almost traded his loyalty to his friends and family so he himself could have a better life. Quite frankly, it doesn't matter what you like to think of Batman. Because that is not who he is. Even before he had the nervous breakdown, he still loved his children, in the Gotham Knights (I think) series he was interviewed as Bruce Wayne about Jason and he broke down in tears, he also finally adopted Dick legally, and he asked to adopt Tim, who at the time declined not wanting to immediately replace his father, and he adopted Cass. He may have been a bit of an emotional moron, but like most humans, he loved his children.

It seems the only stories you like are the recent Frank Miller works: The Dark Knight Strikes Again, All- Star Batman & Robin and Dark Knight: Boy Wonder, wo writes Batman as both a sociopath and a psychopath who regularly demeaned Dick to the point of insanity, and got Jason killed.

Only change I would make would be to make the gloves and boots black like the cowl/cape.

I would say those alterations and use a more traditional looking Bat-symbol (I don't like that particular bat design) in the ellipse :ybat:, and eye-makeup or lenses.

People are capable of some amazing things, my friend. How can you say with certainty that it's "unrealistic" for one person to be that gifted mentally and physically??? Just because you or I have never met this person, doesn't mean none ever existed. And the chances are very high the SEALS have rare guys like that.

With all the respect to the seals , they are tough but in hand to hand they would suck as much as Batman and his Keysi fighting method, even they recognize that plus the method they practice is always changing and sometimes that has flaws...you simply cannot have everything.

The movies exagerate everything a little bit. No Chuck Norris and no Rambo here.

TDK is on TNT.

Separation of the plates make him vulnerable to knives and gunfire though :(

LOL.

Could also foretell
Talia potentially stabbing Batman and leaving him for dead.

New suit time.

Yesterday (in another thread), I brought up the idea of a CGI suit being done in the near future for the sake of fluidity and mobility in live-action films. At first, I was rather disappointed that I considered such an idea but now I'm not so sure.

Visual Effects are improving every year so I say why not? I'm not hinting at discarding a rubber or kevlar-plated Batsuit completely, but perhaps a CGI suit in fight scenes, for example, could be a tremendous upgrade.

Thoughts?
