Best of luck then. Not having Batman talk is a smart move for your flick (although I like it when he talks. Used to hate it in BF, but love it with BB and TDK).

Thanks. Looks like I'm gonna need it, haha.

What has Neil Blomkamp done aside from District 9?

He's done mostly short films and commercials but his next movie is Elysium.

I do. Zack would make an awesome Batman movie.
I disagree. It would be another of his corny movies with great post production. Both 300 and Watchmen were lame.Even though Watchmen could be great movie.

While I do think Snyder would be great for a Batman movie, I'm not sure where you got the idea of him from the past couple of posts.

It's hinted at what they want to see.

Ah! I knew that from somewhere.

The creature at the side of the road in that viral video? Is that from Elysium?

Watchmen was great. One of the best comic book movies to date.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. I haven't been keeping up with the movie details entirely but I only know of one viral video that has been released for it...

I'm having a rather civil convo with you. On my part anyway. Yes I have complaints about the suit. If you don't like how I express that then ignore my posts. Don't take it so personal. Yes I'm here to show my hate for certain elements of how a character is physically represented because I've invested time and money into this character just as much as you have. But the difference between you and I is I am not directing my comments at any one individual as you are here. I'm allowed to hate TDK suit and express that how ever I choose as long as it is within the rules of the board. No profanity or name calling directed at an individual or persons who take part in these discussions. You on the other hand seem to forget that.
I don't like TDK suit. I do not feel that it represents the essence of the character. I'm sorry that bothers you so much but it has nothing to do with you personally. So don't take it as such.

Huh? When have i ever been profane or called anyone names, except i called you a troll and ill prove to you why.

"His little ant neck holding up a bowling ball with spikey ears, and the horrid patterns all over the suit. It's ill-fitting and ugly. " And THAT, folks, is why TDK suit does NOT look like Batman -

I hate TDK suit. I don't care how it will be defended with functionality and mobility. So what? That's no excuse for how bad it looks. They could have had the same functionality and made it look 10 times better. I just don't see how people can think that something that bad can look so good. -

That belt was a joke. I mean really. There is no way all that stuff slides from his back out of non existence. He's Batman not Marry Poppins

Nipples on his knees!!!! Jagged senseless overly busy leg plating. The bat bra with a tiny unnoticeable bat symbol. Here Batman looks more like the tumbler. The car should reflect the man, not the other way around. I like the idea behind it but the overall design is simply uninspired. We've seen better fan art than that piece of crap.

That last one really ticked me off. You sir are a troll. Your not here to express your opinion. Your here to force it on people that love TDK suit. Like i said before, theres always a way of expressing your opinion in a civil manner. But like the false claim you made earlier about being "civil"..the above posts you made contradict that. Your taking a dump all over something that i Love, and i cant just sit here quietly and not say anything.

Before Begins, what had Nolan done other than Memento?

Blomkamp had my vote!!! And for god's sake, no Zach Snyder!!! I don't need to see Batman walking in slow motion towards the Batmobile, then in a sudden fast motion scene jumps into the Batmobile, and then just as it's taking off we get another super motion scene of tires screeching and exhaust flames. While all the sound is drounded out by some completely out of place music.

And before anyone says it, no that doesn't sound awesome. It's lame and corny.

I wish I could have seen that Neil Blomkamp Halo film...

Why Universal...why!?
Because in order to deliver a Halo movie that didn't disappoint millions of fans, a minimal budget of $250 million would be needed, and there is absolutley no way a studio is gonna invest that much into a videogame-based movie right now. Which is a darn shame too. Those studio execs are so out of touch. DOn't even see the potential gold mine that are videogame movies (done right that is). Instead they let hack job directors ruin videogame franchice after franchise (I'm lookin at you Resident Evil, Max Payne, and Prince of Persia!)

This is too true. They had a damn good chance with Halo, especially with Peter Jackson.

If there is one thing that I love just as much as Batman, it's Halo (Batman still wins :p).

By a long shot! Halo is work of art visually and action-wise but as far as stories go, it's kinda run of the mill. Really just a mix of all our favorite sci-fi movies. "What if RoboCop fought Aliens, zombies, and acient robotic technologies in space?"

Bit more to it then that If you read the novels. Still love the story.

I love Halo aswell. I beat all of em on Legendary, and was pretty beastly online. All the Halo games haveto be some of the most fun ive ever had when it comes to Videogames!

One of my favorite parts in Reach was the first time the Spartans make contact with the Zealots at the end on Winter Contingency! The way Noble Team works together is pretty epic. Specially when Carter smacks the Zealot in the face and kicks the assault rifle to Noble 6. The music was awesome too!

The music in the games are sheet brilliance. Favourite video game score ever. All of them.

I've been Halo since I was 7 so it's been "the game" so to speak for me.

Anyway, back to Batman :p

Who here loves this scene from TDK? Batman is so brutal! Headbutts, breaking wrists, elbows to the face! Maroni's thugs are definately hardened criminals, each with alot of kills to their name. But Batman goes through them like nothing! Seems like hes blended Keysi and Ninjitsu into one badass fighting style!

Sorry, the batsuit has simply extinguished the simple fear factor the suit once had.

As guys have commented, there's simply too much stuff on the suit.

He did Memento which made a bucket load of money considering the budget and then made Insomnia which did almost three times it's budget in cinemas. So he did have a pretty good track record.

I love the style of Christopher Nolan's films, not just the Batman ones, but ideally I'd like to see a radical departure from Christopher Nolan's Batman. Purely because I want to see a standalone quasi-horror style Batman flick where he's pretty much seen from the eyes of the criminals.

A wraith, a supernatural figure. Nothing that can be compared to the real thing. In my head I have the images that pervaded part of Begins where he's lurking in the shadows, coming out of nowhere and being that terrible thought.

I'd love to see a film centered around that. It'd be mighty difficult to create but damn would it be enjoyable.

I wasn't really trying to say Nolan hadn't done anything before Begins. Just pointing out that Blomkamps track record is comperable (because someone asked "what has Blomkamp done besides D9?"). Plus Blompkamp has an Oscar nominated movie under his belt. Though we can all agree that Memento should have been nominated if not won.

But just by the by (sorry but I'm a stickler when it comes to Box-Office numbers), Insomnia's budget was $46 mil. It made $113 worldwide. That's way off from tripling, which would be $138. It's closer to doubling, or 2.46X to be exact.

And uhh... Blomkamp's track record. District 9: Budget: $30 mill. Worldwide gross: $210 million. He septupled (word?) his production budget. :yay:

Like I said if they considered Blomkamp as Nolan's successor, he would instantly have my vote.

I'm a big fan of box office numbers as well, but my math failed me there as I went for almost instead of precisely :)

I think Neil Blomkamp would be great, but I think that like Duncan Jones, Blomkamp's better suited to things with a science fiction edge to it.

To be honest as I'd mentioned before I'd love to see a quasi-horror version of Batman, but I cannot think of which director would fit the part.
