FYI - they delayed the release of Bourne Legacy to a week. That means another extra week of no competition for TDKR.

I think it's hilarious that Universal didn't even attempt to BS in their press release. They came right out and said they're scared of TDKR. But it's a smart move for them. They should have done the same thing for Hellboy II back in 2008, but instead they let it die an awful death against TDK. They learned from that experience and moved Adjustment Bureau away from Inception. Universal's message to the rest of Hollywood: "Fear the Nolan!"

And I can exclusively tell you the quality of TDKR will surpass the Avengers based on great acting, a meatier plot, heavier themes, and the fact the script isn't strung together by cheesy one-liners and flashy SFX that you forget about 10 minutes later.

I see Total Recall is still scheduled for August 3rd. That will be a huge bomb. The budget was massive on it and the box office won't live up to the costs. Budgets in Hollywood are out of control these days. $200m is now the new $100m in terms of Hollywood spending.

It's actually funny that's there TDKR/Avengers arguments breaking out in the hype and yet no one actually posts in the actual Avengers vs. TDKR thread.

Everything is getting out of the way. 5 weeks before release, G.I. Joe moves to next year (despite toys already on shelves), Ted moves from the weekend before to three weekends before. Bourne moves from two weekends after to three weekends after.

Surprised Fox hasn't delayed The Watch (opening one weekend after) with all the Treyvon Martin news. Time will tell.

Bourne moving means TDKR will not have four weekends at #1 like TDK. And now Bourne has to compete with Expendables 2 the weekend right after.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I don't really care how well TDKR does, so long as I enjoy it. I don't care if it beats all these other movies so long as I can remember it as an amazing trilogy.
