It's interesting when you look back and see that we had three great cinema villains back to back to back.

2007: Anton Chigurh played by Javier Bardem.

2008: The Joker played by Heath Ledger.

2009: Hans Landa played by Christoph Waltz.

A hat-trick of memorable baddies.

Ledgers joker is truly one of the most iconic movie villians of all time...i cant say that about hiddlestons loki...although i do think hes the best villian in any marvel movie...that really isnt saying much since marvel movie villians have kinda been underwhelming

THIS!!! :up::up:

No kidding. We won't see a back-to-back-to-back villain combo like that for a long time.

2012 = Year of Bane and Hopefully, Calvin Candie(Leonardo DiCaprio's character in Django Unchained)

Love 'em :hrt:

Calvin Candie will blow away any other villains this year. Mark my words. Even from the script he seemed such a charismatic bastard. Definitely close to Hans Landa level.

Do you think Leo will finally get his Oscar with this one?

I don't find DiCaprio's acting interesting but they give oscars to everybody except Gary Oldman in these days.

This is totally different from anything he's dabbled on before. No dark past to grief, no angst, just a very charismatic and brutal plantation slave owner. His introduction will be a classic. Even in script form it was exhilarating. It'll at least be on par with Landa's/IB's introductory scene.

Candie sounds incredibly promising as a villain but he won't overshadow Bane, in my honest opinion. Leo will most definitely get the Oscar nod though.

Based on everything we've seen and heard, Bane will be a memorable villain for years to come.

This 100%.

It's almost objective at this point.

Opening Weekend: $190,000,000 [proj.] Boxoffice.com projection went up 4 million and
overall boxoffice went up about 10 million to 530 million. If it manages 190 OW, to me thatwould be as equally impressive as The Avengers 207 million with 3D and 3D Imax to TDKR only
IMAX. Would be about 16 million more than TDK OW with Inflation(174 million)

Damn! This is great news!

Now just about 28 million more and as the Joker once said...."Now we're talkin'!"

Even though he wasn't in the MCU I'd say Magneto as portrayed in X 1 and X 2 was dead on perfect

Esspecialy when he take on an olmost benevolent role in the middle of X2
I'm an X-Men fan first & think TDK Joker was a lot more memorable than Mckellen Mags. Not a villain of course but Mckellen can compete with Joker on memorability with Gandalf though.

I will be surprised if TDKR surpasses 190 million. If it happens though, TDKR definitely set the bar extremely high for non-3D films.

That's more like it! :word:

It wont sell as many tickets as TDK OW, but with higher ticket prices and more IMAX screens it should make slightly more money.

It will probably sell more tickets than TDK.

It has to gross more than $175 million OW to sell more tickets than TDK. Roughly that is.
