The fact he's allegedly missing in action for eight years has made this notion less "cool" to me. It's funny because I've always hoped for that scene of Bane in the cave, but when I saw the scene that could potentially be that, I joined Team Sewer... :o I think it's the continuity issue that bugs me, but the image posted earlier helps.

I'm not sure I follow, It's still his batcave if he's not actively on the streets, or did you mean something else?

1) Can you provide the proof that Batsuit is in water? I heard about it here and there, but nothing official.

(Saving Travesty some time) :)

From the EW article January 2012
"Just a big old cave. One with a working waterfall that feeds a subterranean lake, as well as a concrete platform that rises up from the watery deep and hides secret plastic cabinetry that can pop up from the floor with the press of a button.

One of these clear boxes contains Bruce Wayne's Batsuit

If he has a plastic secret box for the Batsuit, I imagine he could have them for all of his equipment, the Batpod, Tumbler, The Bat, anything really...

It's laborious to say where the first confrontation between Batman and Bane will take place at. My heart says The Batcave, but my brain says The Sewers.

Well, okay, I'll explain better. What I mean is that what initially appealed to me was the idea of Bane being badass enough to encroach into Bruce's own territory, his playing field, and hand his ass to him. It's not so much that Bane taking Batman down when he's out of his prime affects a scene like this specifically, it's a more overarching issue, but it's definitely lessened my wanting for any kind of act Bane could commit that would show Bruce up or that he's better than him. The concept just isn't as cool to me when it's a place he's long abandoned, not an active base of operations, and he's not been Batman for so long. It's like Bane's invading a museum, not a fortress, it's not a big feat IMO.

I think it was in an article. I'll try to find it in about 30-40 min when I get back home.

OK. Thanks.

Maybe it was stolen....by Catwoman. There are theories out there that Catwoman sides with Bane in the beginning, and then she changes her mind afterwords. So maybe she took it.

Pretty fair explanation.

Does that chase take place at the beginning of the movie? How do you know that?

First, chase happens before winter events, where cops side with Batman. Where it gets pretty obvious, who's the real enemy. If cops chase Batman, then it's pretty clear, that he's a fugitive. Also, it means, that Bane hasn't revealed the truth about Dent. That means, this chase happens before riots and havoc, before Bane frees prisoners. That means, pretty early in the movie.

So, again. Even if Batpod is being stolen by Catwoman, other Batman equipment can get into Bane's hands, if he discovers the Batcave. That's why I think it's unlikely, that Bane ambushes Batman in the Batcave.

I understand the emotional impact you guys envision from Bane beating Batman in the Batcave. I'd find it even better if Bane beat Batman while he was at his parents' graves.

edit: While delivering the beating Bane could give us his thoughts on Thomas Wayne--as a manipulator that wanted to have the people of Gotham under his thumb--or something similar.

You've been watching Justice League DOOM haven't you? :cwink:

I think I know what you mean. Since the Batcave would be unused and Bruce be in an emotional Batman-less state, Bane beating him in the cave wouldn't be such a huge victory for him, since Bruce has basically given up before Bane even showed up, which means Bruce doesn't even use the cave - hardly.

Exactly.

Thanks. That place, where the fight occurs, looks way too rusty for a new construction, which Batcave is. Just check how shiny constructions on the photo with Bruce W. are. Absolutely different mood.

Maybe he walks it as a ghost in its tomb. Reminiscing about the sense of purpose he felt while trying to convince himself to move on and stop with his unhealthy fixation on the past.

You can really see it in the hi-res version of the screenshot that RIM posted recently where you see more outside the casing. It doesn't look like the glass case is situated anywhere rusty imo.

Well they ADDED to the foundations of Wayne Manor, they didn't replace them. So the old tunnel system, elevator, waterfall entrance, etc. should all still be there. Just because that part of the cave is new doesn't mean it all is.

It's really hard to see, because it looks like that entire plastic and aluminum are one piece, so of course it wont be rusted...it's aluminum.

Yeah, that's a ncie way to put it. I mean, I still think that Bruce has been Batman in some of the 8 years, so I think the Batcave will be in use.

I'm aware of that. It could go either way, but the fact more of the image has been revealed and the aesthetic of the Bane fight surrounding still is nowhere to be seen is a point in Team Sewer's favor IMO. Only time will tell, though, it still could be the cave as you've demonstrated the fight surrounding does look similar to the elevator from Begins IMO.

All I know, is that I'm wearing a Team Cave shirt to the premier.

I will say one thing... I'm glad Team Underground defeated Team Rain, that was stupid. :o There's no way that fight is outdoors.

Wait, what was Team Underground? I thought Team Rain was battling Team Snow for the Bane poster?

As far as the poster goes, I'm on Team Rain.

Gah, I'm talking about the people that kept screaming it was raining at the end of the teaser when it was still in bootleg quality. I'm on Team Rain 2.0, the poster version of Team Rain :oldrazz: There's no way it's snowing lol.

oh i get you. Bane didn't exact defeat Batsy in his prime either in the comics. I think the point is to show batman get bested physically and mentally in his homeground because his eye has been off the ball for so long.

I don't think we'll truly see a "full" batman until the last 40 minutes or so.
