It's the debate on whether this scene takes place in a sewer or the batcave:

Hahaha, me and Rashad posted almost exactly the same thing.

It's kind of split for me. Though I've said from the start it's a sewer, I have always wanted Bane to beat Batman to a pulp in his own batcave. But I'll also be kind of disappointed if the cave actually has a rusty/brown look... I know this is a Nolan film and it pertains to "teh realizms", but sheesh :(

So in the Entertainment Weekly article, they mention that Bane's mask was inspired by a Francis Bacon painting of a baboon. Does anyone have any idea what painting they might be referring to. The only Bacon painting of a Baboon I've ever heard of is this one.

I really don't see the connection.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who Google'd that after reading the article :funny:.

The beams and perfect angles not to mention the flooring alone is something out of a sewer system not a cave.

I want it to be the batcave myself, but by all indications of this picture, it looks more like they're in a sewer.

I hope it isn't the bat cave either. They just rebuilt Wayne manor, I think it would be repetitive for them to have the antagonist come in and threaten to destroy his house... again.

This was almost certainly filmed at Cardington along with the Tower/Prison set, making everything new in the Teaser trailer a UK shot.

The Batcave was filmed in L.A much later, so unless they first built another copy in the UK it's got to be a new location.

I mean its believable. It wouldn't be the first time Nolan has referenced Bacon in his movies

From Dark Knight, oddly this painting was actually in Batman 89. Its the one painting in the museum that the joker stops his goons from painting over.

Study of the head of George Gyer (sp?) was in inception.

interesting.

the joker's look in TDK was also inspired by the paintings of francis bacon.

and for what its worth, i'm also going to pledge allegiance to team sewer.:woot:

There was no batcave until they filmed at the Sony studio according to Entertainment Weekly, and that occurred in October 2011. Therefore, what we saw in the first trailer (July 2011) was not the batcave. People have really let their fantasies run away with them with some of this batcave stuff. If I see the photos of the Romanian salt mines again, I'm screaming.

Those paintings are cool. I love the connection from that Joker scene to the one in '89. I wonder if we'll see any other references?

I wouldn't rule out a Batman Credit card now, come to think of it.

And the film will be set in the winter - So those Bat-Skates could see a resurgence. I'm sure Nolan would do it tastefully, though.

Oh, and Team Sewer.

I'm gonna laugh out loud in the theater, if it turns out that it is neither a cave or a sewer.

Haha. I could see that if it's just "Bane's hideout"... but it seems to be a sewer, given the above :oldrazz:

It's probably a really intense hair salon.

Either way, I kinda scared seeing Batman getting demolished.
