Not that I'm shooting down the Avengers>TDK thing, if it's true then we have a HELL of a movie waiting for us in a couple of weeks. I'm just saying this has all happened before.

*time travel to 2008*

"Iron man is a BB killer!!!" "say what??? Batman has finally been dethroned"
*2 months later*
"the. dark. knight. nuff sed"

I don't wanna be *that* guy, but history repeats itself.

There is one difference. IM1 was following an origin formula started by Superman: The Movie, just like BB did a few years earlier and SM1 did a few years before BB. Avengers is in new territory with the whole team up thing, although you could compare it to X-Men. From what I've heard, Avengers has a ton of action in it -- way more than IM1. TDKR is not likely to have that much action compared to Avengers, so Nolan's story would have to be off the charts great.

Goyer wrote the script for TDK? I thought he just came up with the story and jonah did the script?

Yeah, you're right. David Goyer only came up with a basic outline, and the Nolans wrote the entirety of the script.

TDKR is different too because this is the first CBM trilogy that has a definitive ending. It's not as out there as the team-up thing, though.

That's one thing. It's easier to blow up the balloon than to go out with a bang. Avengers always had the advantage here.

I'm not convinced we'll have a definitive ending. Nolan is going to leave a bit of cliffhanger IMHO. Not anything major, but something to make you think about it. Kinda like the Inception ending, which I took as a wink to the audience but a lot of people took it seriously and went down a bunch of rabbit holes.

If Avengers is really that amazing, then it's going to have an appropriate action to story ratio.

TDKR has A LOT of action. We've heard this from a lot of different places and we can see that from the shooting around the place.

So I wouldn't say the amount of Action in Avengers is what will make it better than TDKR.

Rises will be fine. All it has to do is be the proper ending to this story. It doesn't have to be a perfect film. He doesn't even have to be better than Knight. It just needs to be the right ending.

And with the way Nolan tends to lock down the endings to his films way before he gets to the other details, I'm not worried.

I'm not sure. Nolan already had a basic understanding of how he wanted to end Bruce's story early on. I don't think it went like ''Now this is the cliffhanger we're going to put at the end of the trilogy''. Maybe the ending will be open for debate, but it will definitely have the ''this is it'' feeling.

The Avengers reviews have me wondering just how..."depressing" this movie could be, lol...then I realize that Batman blowing **** up in "The Bat" during the climax will be immensely exciting, lol.

I think TDKR is going to be extremely dark, extremely dramatic, and extremely entertaining all at the same time.

I'm not saying amount of action is what will make it better for me because I'm generally not a huge action movie fan. I think for general audiences though, wall-to-wall action is a pretty good place to start for a crowd pleaser.

Avengers doesn't even have to try very hard with the characters because everyone was set into place before the film. It's all in the interaction.

I just want to know why we haven't gotten some sort of confirmation of when the next trailer is coming out. Seems we should of heard something if it was going to be out with Avengers. I'm hoping its available for download before Avengers release and takes back the title of most downloaded trailer from Avengers

I'm hoping this movie isnt a complete downer. I'd like to see Bruce get back up and have a full victory, not a half hearted one like people say TDK was.

It probably will, but that doesn't mean much.

Doesn't mean anything, matter of fact. That being said, the trailer definitely will not be online before it shows up in theaters. They wait until the Monday after it debuts in theaters.

When have we gotten confirmation of anything before it dropped? Only thing I could think of is the prologue

The context of Batman's victory in TDK was different. I have little to zero to doubt you'll get your wish in TDKR.

Knight wasn't a downer. In all honesty, Knight's ending is actually very hopeful amongst the darkness. This is why Nolan could've easily walked away after Knight.

I think Nolan likes the character and what he represents of Bruce Wayne so much that I don't see him not giving Bruce sunrise at the end of this film. I think the ending will be the logical ending to the story, for Nolan.

To me, the ending is of Bruce succeeding in the mission that he set out to do in Begins and fully becoming like his father and taking the mantel of the Wayne family to new heights and retiring the mantel of the Bat...

Oh i don't think there's any doubt that Avengers will be a more crowd pleasing "entertaining" film than TDKR.

Heck Bad boys 2 entertains and pleases me and everyone i watch it with, I'd gladly watch that film every week.

I'd only watch Blade Runner once a year, and I certainly wouldn't put it on with a group of people over.

That's how i personally cannot really compare Avengers and TDKR, they appeal to two very different parts of me, I'm not saying the difference is as extreme as BB2 vs Blade Runner. I'm just saying it really is useless comparing the action and story in both films.

If I had that many limbs, I'd give you all those thumbs up sir.

Batman blowing up Tumblers in the Bat with Catwoman helping on the Batpod and Gordon on the HEMTT truck trying to deal with the Bomb?

For me personally, that's more exciting than the character team up in Avengers. Though Avengers has such great potential to be a very fun, energetic and awesome film.

To me the only film of Avengers that can reach the level of story of Nolan's Batman is if in one film, they're united and the civil war rips them apart.

We knew that the teaser would be with Harry Potter and that the trailer would be with Game of Shadows.

TDKR is also an action film...a lot more action this time around,

Well there's always one other option...

The final trailer will be either with Avengers or Dark Shadows. I'm betting Dark Shadows.
