I don't understand this notion that TDK was not fun. I had a blast during the chase scene and my heart almost shot out of my chest when the plane lifted Lau and Batman away from Hong Kong and the preceding anticipation augmented by Zimmer's music. Not to mention every second Ledger was on screen.

More to do with it's tone I think. I guess if you enjoy it in some way that equates to fun, all semantics I guess.

Like the whole Graphic Novel and comic book debate. Like Neil Gaiman said, it's like calling a prostitute a "lady of the evening".

You still have to admit Ledger was all sorts of fun.

I would call that being thoroughly entertained and enjoying the movie, which I definitely was as well. Seeing that movie on IMAX on opening day was maybe the best theater experience I've ever had. I absolutely enjoyed it but I still would not call the movie itself fun; it's too tonally dark with negative things happening in the narrative. It's the experience versus the actual film.

It IS premiering there. Not Hyperbole lol! This is fact! :p

Seriously the trailer is premiering next week guys. Get ready. This doesn't mean much for me though. I'm avoiding descriptions and leaks for the third and final trailer, and waiting to see it with the Avengers or online the weekend after Avengers comes out. This is going to be the longest two weeks ever. Gah

Hell I think TDK even has some actual funny parts. I will always smile when Bruce is in playboy mode and both Alfred and Lucius had some funny quips. I will always giggle at "The Lamborghini then, much more subtle". :)

TDKR seems pretty humorless based on the trailer though. :(

News at the tail end of Thread 62. :o

Your source, Goku?

No need, all you need is good old fashioned goku faith.

and some common sense considering they are confirmed to be presenting SOMETHING, and this is pretty much the exact same time that the final trailers for bb and tdk premiered.

It's just a really really good bet.

I'm curious if there will be any "game" involved, or if they'll just slam it on the apple website (or wherever).

I think there's a fairly good chance they'll show it at CinemaCon. Whether the trailer is premiering with Avengers or Dark Shadows, it'll probably be done by next week if it's not done already so why not?

Showing the prologue would be pointless because mostly everyone there will have already seen it, and it's not like there's an IMAX screen to present it on (I don't think).

Yeah, I'm feelin' the trailer.

Too bad for you! I want bootlegs and trailer descriptions ASAP! :hehe:

But I wouldn't be enjoying it if those aforementioned scenes weren't fun. Plus, being dark tonally doesn't negate the fun factor. Think about the Empire Strikes Back, it's last act lays on the dark like no other yet it's still incredibly fun. Leia escaping, Luke battling Vader; heck, even Han Solo being frozen was kinda fun because he was still being a smart ass all through the process.

I suppose the lighter stuff will be from the Bat/Cat scenes like Catwoman pulling the disappearing act on Bats. Not sure though if they will show any light scene in the trailer. If they do, I bet it will be the last scene in the trailer and it will be a cat pun. :oldrazz:

The majority of the humor beats in TDK work very well, overall more than in Begins, partly because the movie is otherwise pretty gloomy.

Well hopefully if all of this is true, my theater should be getting the next trailer soon and I'll keep you guys posted as I did for the previous two.

Entertainment Weekly's new article referred to Selina Kyle as an enigma; as a witty con artist; and as a high-society grifter (a swindler).
