Yes it's Inception that pretty much wiped any doubt for me, my doubts that TDKR could be better than TDK, my doubts that people only went to see TDK for the joker, my doubts that TDKR would be anything but a monster hit.

Yup. It got to the point where people seemed so jealous or pissed off that TDK was actually as good as it was that they were picking out things in the movie that really had nothing to do with the quality of the plot or film...but just attacking to attack with really nothing to back it up.

Yeah, it was ridiculous.

Someone should tell The Avengers fans to prepare for a backlash...you know it's going to happen. :csad:

Honestly, as much as I love Nolan, I'd rather he be criticized for the voice than Bale. It's my biggest pet peeve when people knock Bale's TDK performance simply because of the voice, when it was clearly Nolan's idea and done behind a filter which Nolan approved of during the editing process.

Been saying this for years. People take the easy way out and blame the actor who had an extremely rude rant on the set of another movie, but the fact is the buck should stop with Nolan...especially when it seems that there were post-production sound effects added to the voice. Bale wouldn't have any control over that part of it. And even if he did have control over the sound of the voice, Nolan himself is responsible for weeding out bad ideas by his actors and guiding them to go in the right direction. Either way, he failed IMHO.

Where did I say it was OK? I merely said people are going to hold the movie to an insane standard that TDK couldn't reach, that very few movies in history have ever reached. It's just a prediction of what I expect from critics who are looking for any excuse to rip TDK's sequel. I don't condone that type of behavior, but I fully expect it.
Which is exactly why I think WB is not overhyping the movie yet

Agreed .

It'll happen no matter how much they promote it. I would expect that every professional critic is aware of the movie being released this year. Even if you took them into it completely blind with no marketing material, they would still have it in their heads that this movie better be the second coming of Citizen Kane or else...

Take that as well as the fact Bale actually did do a natural voice in BB which, whilst obviously of the same breed, didn't have the issues (in terms of understanding him) that the computerized TDK one did and it's really ridiculous why people apply blame to him. And I agree, since that rant especially everyone wants to take a jab at him not just personally but as an actor. It's why I was relieved he got the Oscar for playing Dicky.

If the one thing people complain about is the voice, I'd call that a success. It means they really can't find anything else.

Agree. Bale got way too much crap for the rant. After the fact, he manned up and admitted how much of an idiot he was. He even made fun of himself for it. I appreciate anyone who is willing to admit their mistakes and even make fun of themselves when they do make a mistake. As far as the BB voice goes, I completely agree. The BB voice was not perfect, but it was very tolerable for me compared to the TDK voice.
