TDKR:

Turning the rich into the poor and the poor into revolutionaries working for a radical terrorist with seemingly unlimited strength.

She hates the rich but yet she wears expensive stuff. I guess it's to infiltrate their circle.

The 1960s was the only decade in the comics when Catwoman consistently wore a domino mask instead of a cowl. It was also the decade that first introduced Catwoman’s night vision goggles – in ‘The Case of the Purr-loined Pearl!’ (Batman #210, March 1969).

Thank you.

I've been trying to tell people that the inspiration for the catsuit in this one came from her 60s appearances/incarnations.

Maybe she just decides to keep wearing them because they're awesome... however, it's typical for folks to wear goggles (helmets have windshields!) when they're galavanting around on motorcycles. That pressured air would not do well on her puuurrrfect, little eyes. :o

Which is most of the rich in this movie universe.

It's important to heed the distinction. Very important. Because not all the rich are that way...we know that as our main character is one.

It'll probably make her choices a little harder to predict.

Except one man who she (and most of Gotham) will learn to respect.

It's amazing how Batman and his characters have always been in touch with the times thematically.

She doesn't hate the rich. she hates the greedy, uncaring.

The former will be (unfairly) lumped with the latter as synonymous by the Gothamites I think (at least in the beginning specially when Bane is oh so damn convincing).

Were people convinced she was inspired by something else?

I've seen Spy Kids and on occasion, The Matrix listed as possible inspirations. :funny:

I am looking forward to the shades of gray in this rich vs poor scenario--the good and the bad on both sides of the fence.

No but people act like they can't comprehend why she had goggles and a domino mask when she cleary has had them in the comics.

They are her least stylized apparel and it makes sense why Nolan would use them.

Basic, but slightly stylized, catsuit and goggles/ears.

That sounds pretty cool. The rich experience what it's like to be poor and helpless, and the poor experience what it's like to be powerful. Looks like the former will be really important.

Huh. I just noticed that the BB and TDKR posters are remarkably similar in illustrating a batsymbol surrounded by skyscrapers. Same pov and rotation as well.

Indeed. I didn't really take notice of it before, either. Franchise04 raised it on page 35 of this thread.

Just dawned on me all three posters have skyscrapers on them.

I think my favorite, by far, is the TDKR poster. I find it simple but very effective. Then would be the one for BB and the TDK poster comes in a very distant last place.

Bringing it back to Begins. Full Circle.

I dislike this custome from the comics but when I saw it animated on
BATMAN: THE BRAVE & THE BOLD thought it looked good, very sexy.
