The Dark Knight Rises The TDKR General Discussion & Speculation Thread (NOT A LOUNGE)

I would say a large percentage of my friends who knew about TDKR coming out had to ask me who Bane was. And after I told them Catwoman was in it, they were shocked, because they had no idea.

I showed it to somebody and they asked if it was the cowl Alfred hit with the baseball bat in BB, lol.

We know. The moment they took away the numbering, the countdown to the end of this thread began.

Removing thread numbers is not indicative of the thread's outcome. Most, if not all, threads created by Thread Manager have their titles changed to remove the number. I don't understand why the thread "part" is necessary. Regardless, if the people want the number, they can have it. But the lounge bit will stay until people can prove it's no longer needed.

People had bets going to see what number it would get to before we got some actual news. Most people were saying #55, which is what I think this thread is.

In different contexts that says more good about TDK than BB

I dont think so, but I love them both so who knows.

I kind of want to say the opposite. BB was more of a Hollywood action flick in some ways, yeah it had those great scenes involving Bruce's journey into Batman and I can see that's maybe why you say it was for the fans. TDK was a bit deeper and although it had a good amount of action, I don't see it as being as much of a typical Hollywood action flick than BB. That's just my opinion of course.

I wasn't really looking at it like that. More like BB focused on Batman and Wayne and TDK focused on all the other people in Gotham.

That was me. I showed it to my friend (who loved TDK and BB but is not really a hardcore Batman fan) and she asked me if Batman changed suits and why is his suit sleeveless now. I told her that's Bane and I got a "who's that?" reply. :funny:
:doh:Totally reminds me of when I was in high school and an entire class of sci fi geeks didn't know that Superman was in fact an alien. They were all like "Dude, no he isn't a alien, he looks like a human" and then I said "how do you think he has all those powers?" and they say "Dude he looks human...."

Did I mention I hated high school?

I don't know what's funnier, that they didn't know he was from another planet(I mean c'mon, he's a major pop culture icon) or that you hated high school because of that.

Sure,
I was just pointing out that even with your assessment it could be seen that TDK is the better film

This has been argued to death but TDK is very much about Bruce Wayne and Batman. It just does it in a different way than Batman Begins.

But Wayne and Batman are the focus.

Oh, suddenly I understand people's need to turn this thread into a lounge.

Anyway, when Thread Manager creates the next installment, we'll be happy to keep the number.

Yeah, I see your point. Alot of the focus on Batman in TDK is hidden though. You REALLY need to watch the film to get it.

I understand. TBH, I want people to stay on topic as much as you do.

Rumor I heard: Catwoman's goggles are not part of the original piece. They come about when she needs to get through the dark without electricity and in tunnels.

So does that mean that she won't have the ears until she gets the goggles?

If it's true I guess so.

Perhaps her Catwoman name comes directly from being seen with batman. No one knows who she is so with BATman someone thinks she's a CATwoman.

Up until then she's just been a masked thief.

Interesting, rag.

Does Bane shut down the power in Gotham City during his siege?

I just want to know how he keeps the feds off his back during his reign.

I've always wondered why she had the goggles on when she was riding the Batpod. The chase is suppose to be during the day, right?

I don't know.

Though we've heard that things are in such a state of disarray, I wouldn't be surprised if general electricity is shut down and some parts of Gotham are running on external generators controlled by Bane's men.

I'm thinking he puts every body in the same leaky boat, the average, the poor, the rich, the innocent, the criminals. And after the initial idea of "hey we're free to have equality" it gets so bad that most Gothamites come running to him (not literally) for help. He sets up some meager accommodations and he's got the people of Gotham worshiping him in no time.

My high school was filled with idiots the lot of them it was.(in my upper crust british accent just because :awesome:)

Yes.

#1 it's snowing, maybe that has some reason?

#2 The wind...?

#3 I think she's just back from
Breaking the police from their underground prison and it was dark there
so she still has them on

Maybe there's no electricity inside the City Hall? I don't know. :funny:

Makes sense, really. Knowing Nolan the goggles haven't been just put there.

Give the people bare bones and have them come crawling back to Bane if they want any more comforts. People think it's too far gone and therefore must accept this new way of life. But some ala Selina aren't willing to do that.

The beautiful irony

Selina, the modern Robin Hood, freeing the rich people?
