sadly a cbm will never win best picture

i bet the last episode of the brave and the bold has better writing and story telling than some garbage movies that have been nominated

This.

But, if any film had the most potential and the best chances, it would be TDKR.

But really, even Road to Perdition, the most non superheroesque cbm of all time couldn't evne get a best picture nom (though it did win 6 significant Oscar noms).

Careful with that; I wanted the same from Spider-Man 3. This does seem to be in a slightly better position at the moment. For one thing, Nolan and Goyer have had the story in line since 08, so there's been time for them to hopefully hammer out any faulty logic etc.

I do think this will be better than TDK. It is a good movie but in retrospect it shouldn't be too hard to top.

The villains are at least a big step up from Joker/Two-Face. Back in 08 after Two-Face was killed and Riddler rumors were abound, I was afraid that this movie would feel like a poor man's TDK.

Only for me, though. And since I haven't seen many films, hopefully I'll get blown away by this. Every Nolan blockbuster film I've seen has been better IMO than the one before, so i hope this will follow that pattern. I've really hyped myself up for this and that is dangerous, but... :oldrazz: Oh yeah, and the trailer has be very very very very very very very intrigued.

I normally lurk around the SHH TDKR board but never really write on it. I just wanted to come on here to say (or more ask) -

WHEN THE HELL ARE WE GONNA GET SOMETHING NEW FOR THIS FILM!

I don't recall anything since December! A film normally has some sort of Trailer, photo, interview, clip, poster to stop any long periods of silence. TDKR the most talked about film of the year? I feel WB have taken farrrrr too much of a step back with the marketing to the point where they aren't even bloody marketing it! I still know many people who don't even know a third film is on its way! (I live in the UK so bear that in mind). No one is really talking about it a lot here well obviously they are but its getting nowhere near the hype The Avengers or Prometheus is getting and even if it is and I'm just not hearing about it, its definitely not getting the exposure.

To be honest it really wouldn't surprise if this film didn't even break $1Billion.

Agreed. I want this film to be very good.

And BTW, I'm always gonna hold hope for TDKR at the Oscars because, as I've said before, if Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, a war film, can win Best Picture, The Dark Knight Rises can.

Really? There has to be more this at this time for TDK. I'm happy to say I was wrong but I find it hard to believe.

Well, TDK's final trailer was in May as well, if that's what you're talking about.

I hope the TV Spots won't spoil too much. That's my fear when they start is that they will spoil certain parts of the film.

Just like with the Dark Knight, I wont even bother watching the TV Spots.

Neither will I. Mainly because I care to know as little as possible till I see it.

After all the stuff from on set during filming, I've avoided as much actual plot info and all the deduction about what order the scenes are in as possible just so I'm not too spoiled. I'll try to avoid these tv spots as well but probably not too successfully...

I don't think I'll be able to resist watching the TV spots.

After seeing that clip of Black Widow fighting, I'm really excited to see Catwoman in action. Though, I do hope it looks more believable.

If the rumors are true, and she did make contact with a guys face, it's going to be good. :woot:

I want this film to be the best film I've ever seen.

I usually wait about five years before entertaining the thought of including a film in a best ever context.

But that's just silly, irrational me.

Well, I don't really watch regular tv so that takes care of the tv spots, and aside from SHH I don't go anywhere else for TDKR so I think I'm safe. but I'm making a promise to not click on any new news concerning this when I get to the home page. It's gna be hard, but I really want every moment to be as new as possible. It's going to be even harder to do as we get closer because details and actual scene pics are bound to make their way to us one way or another lol and of course the spoiler threads will be on fire!

Yeah, but I just mean me, both in terms of first impression and later rewatches.

Hair whipping face is much more exciting than gun hitting face... :o

I learned my lesson from watching all the spots and trailers of TDK too many times. Visuals have a way of diminishing in impact on every rewatch. This is why I try to limit the number of trailer/TV spot watches of a film I am anticipating and later rewatches of favorite films.

Hard as **** though.

This.

TV spots are one thing to avoid but online clips and that HBO special will not be seen by these eyes.

I told myself not to watch clips and hbo special from TDK in 08,but did. This time round I'm gonna follw through and just wait till the 20th.I will watch the last trailer but that's it.

Agreed.

I also caved and watch the special in '08 but yeah, I'm not gonna repeat my mistake.

I'll too watch the next trailer and perhaps look at the next non spoiler pics to come out but thats all.
