Yes. Everybody should master the craft of whatever they criticize.

But only if they can do it better.

In seriousness though, I do see peoples point about the fighting scenes and what not. With all the physical combat involved between all these characters, I wonder if Nolan finally found his footing in this regard.

Bane & Batman fighting is going to be one of the highlights. And for once in this series we will get a Batman fight for long periods of time, more than once, and against someone who can fight back and take a punch.

The Ra's Al Ghul fight at the end of Batman Begins was pretty long and evenly matched.

Agreed, but.... this time, the playing field isn't quite the same.

I love the Batman movement in TDK, It is slow and clunky, but I don't care. I finally seen the sizzle reel attached to the Prologue, and His form is getting better.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the fighting so much as it look staged because of the combat style they're using to choregraph it. There are times it works quite well. And there are times when it looks very fake. It doesn't begin to compare to the type of combat seen in the Bourne and Bond movies, most solid action films, or even in say, Daredevil. And I really think the combat in BEGINS was fater, and more brutal and skilled. In THE DARK KNIGHT, he seems to become a step slower and a step less skilled and aware so that The Joker's henchman, etc, can get some shots in. I don't mind what happens in Lau's building so much, as it still works, but I do mind when the story tells me Batman's new suit makes him faster and more flexible, and he moves with almost exactly the same range of motion and maybe even less speed than in the first film, where at least the element of surprise made him appear faster and more efficient.

I think TDK's choreography wasn't great, but I think Batman Begins was worse. I know some people try to justify it but I never bought the arguments.

At least with Batman Begins, you couldn't make out whether or not the fight choreography was horrible or passable. Nolan edited the fight scenes to appear animal-like. TDK's, on the other hand, were painfully slow and people could make out everything.

Either way I cant wait to see Anne in those stilettos in the final film :hrt:
 Nolan's fight scenes have always been lacking for me. Their just so slow paced and choreographed. Tom Hardy said he had to explain to a director before how a real fight would go down, maybe that'll happen again :lmao:

Agreed. I can't wait to see Anne in those heels, and suit. :woot:

Oh god no. :funny:

At least Nolan has had some experience in what NOT to do when arriving to fight choreography now. As a martial artist, a fan of martial arts & fight scenes, and a fan of Batman, I think Nolan has to get it right here. It's his final film.

You have to slow it down a bit, because unless he goes back to spandex ala adam West, he's going to be a slug in the suit.

He just got neck movement, which helps a lot.

Plus, His movements are cool and calm because of his training - Not everyone has the same amount of training either. Some people don't know how to fight.

Those quick shots of Bane and Batman fighting on the steps look pretty brutal, and in a real way.

If I saw Batman coming at me in a dark room, after he took out all my friends, I'd proabbly just stand there too. haha

It made sense to me.

:funny: Well said.

The customer is always right. That being said, it is virtually impossible to please each and every customer.

Nothing gets me more pumped for The Dark Knight Rises than this Prestige style trailer...

Chris Nolan, you smart son of a *****. :hrt:

I completely disagree. Bale isn't immobile in that suit, it's just heavy. Furthermore, it's not really Bale performing the fight scenes 80% of the time. Buster Reeves tends to be incharge of that.

For example, Van Damme, Arlovski, Pyle and Lundgren wore gear and equipment weighing from inbetween 50-100 lbs in their fight scenes (from Universal Soldier: Regeneration) and the fight choreography still appeared fluid and engaging.

KFM is derived from other systems/styles like Kali, Escrima, Silat, Jeet Kune Do and Wing Chun. So it has that potential to appear both stunning and brutal on-screen but Nolan has yet to properly organize, film and edit these fight scenes. Hell, the drills in this video look far more entertaining than TDK's fight choreography.

Wow, I never realized the obvious similarity between the the well in BB, and the cavernous opening in TDKR.

I just hope we see more elbow in the fights. God, I love those elbows.

Really? lol that's like the first thing I noticed when we saw it in the teaser trailer. :oldrazz:

It is cool though. I love how Nolan's films are in rhythm with eachother.

They should do it over again when there are more iconic moments from TDKR to use.

But yea, it's nice to see clips from all three films spliced together!

Young Bruce's spirit never reached the top of the well by himself. It's going to be his chance to do so in TDKR. His last chance to literally pick himself up.

Imagine if Bruce's father was someone crazy like the Joker. "Why do we fall? So we can fall again. Huhehahuhehahahahaha!"

...and miraculously out of nowhere Alfred shows up to help Bruce and ruin that final salvation. :funny:

The cave Bruce fell in is a full circle, and so is the cave in TDKR.

Full circle!
