Must we go back to Begins and review?

"I can be immortal. I can be everlasting."

He's not going to do that continuing service. Joe shmoe continues service as a police officer or fire-fighter. Do you see joe shmoe honored with a statue?

I've seen William Wallace honored with a statue. Guess what he did? He was captured and killed. He died fighting for Scotland's independence. And now he's remembered forever.

All I am saying is there's a difference between hero and martyr and messiah.

I'm not denying that bats dying could result in him being remembered and possibly immortalized. It likely would.

Just saying the sacrifice is not out of spiritual brotherhood but rather it's an ethical decision based on right and wrong.

Bats doesn't need to feel love for gotham. Bats doesn't do what he does for love. He does it for justice. He fights for right.

maybe they will have something in the movie at the end where it leads the crowd to believe bruce is actually dead, a few seconds after the credits you hear flicking noise then hear a sizzling sound the picture cuts to gordon with the flare, music erupts and batman steps out of the shadows.

Hmmm could work, but personally, if the film ends with a Batman moment, I'd like a shot of Batman crouched on a gargoyle or something, slowly standing up as the camera moves up to him, and he jumps and glides into the night, something like BB's ending shot, but more grand and powerful.

Wha.. uh ,, wHwatat/.
/?

WHAT?:cmad::cmad::cmad::cmad:

There will be no 'credits scene' for TDKR. Half the world may explode...Seriously....:exp:

Haha didn't you hear? There's an after-credits scene for TDKR.

Batman being summoned by the Batsignal, but when he reaches the rooftop, Gordon's not there, no one is. Then Henry Cavill's Superman steps out of the shadows, telling Batman about a league that's being put together.

Get the messiah part out of your head lol

You mentioned him feeling love like a father to his children; my mind thinks Christ. Pardon if I'm misunderstanding you.

It's late but I'm enjoying all this thinking/discussing. Even if I may not be thinking clearly :)

TDKR's surprise ending: batman leaves gotham for metropolis.

TDKR's surprise ending was released a while ago... I believe it was called Batman XXX.

There's more to it, I know.

The thing about it is that the more I entertain it in my head. . .the more it doesn't make any sense. It seems to go completely against the whole "Infinitely blowing up a balloon" statement and, in all honesty, fall flat in comparison to some of the other ideas people have been suggesting here.

is it common knowledge that there's a possible (albeit distant) shot of scarecrow in the mtv trailer?

It's actually a shame Two Face was killed off, his character would have been perfect for that courtroom scene.

Not that I'm complaining about his death, I loved his story arc.

I cannot wait to see how this all plays out! Only 29 days to go!

Okay, I HARDLY go to the bat-forum. I have been struck in the Spidey-board for like 2.5 years :P

So I basically know NOTHING about TDKR. I saw BB- twice and TDK-twice. that is it.

I have heard the rumour that Batman is going to die? Sorry for asking an annoying question.
