I can see a possible Dick Grayson cameo, not sure about the Black Mask part. Not that I would mind that but I don't see where he would fit.

I just looked at your most anticipated movies list - you should've written "The Dark ****ing Knight ****ing Rises" :funny:

I'm sorry, but it isn't inaccurate at all. Granted, "written" may have been...a poor choice of word, but my point remains the same nonetheless. At the time of BB they had envisioned an ending for Batman (presumably should they be allowed to do more films...)

As Goyer said...

"The final scene of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is exactly [the] scene we talked about when Christopher Nolan and I started the trilogy with 'Batman Begins'. It remained completely unchanged.”

That quote is inaccurate. According to Empire, Goyer said "The final scene of The Dark Knight Rises is exactly that scene we talked about then. It remained completely unchanged.” The context of the article makes it clear he is talking about August 2008, when they started work on the plot for the third film.

For the record, I'm 85% sure the "final shot" of the series is the one in the trailers with Batman standing on the bridge overlooking Gotham.

So like I said, I don't even trust the production themselves sometimes with what is "fact" or not. You've also got things like the actors like "Cillian with his TDK cameo, Marion with Talia" etc. And Nolan hates behind the scenes, he likes to reveal as little about the process as possible, hence we've had such lacklustre featurettes on our DVDs, especially when he began to get more power over his films. I expect TDKR to be worse in that respect, which is upsetting.

Dick Grayson would make sense thematically because it seems being an orphan has a lot to do with this story. I don't see Black Mask fitting into this anyway into the plot or thematically. I wouldn't want Nolan to give him a pointless appearance either, he is too good of a villain for that.

I'd hate it if that's the case.

I think it's best if we just forget ANY spoilers we've learned on these boards. I'm quite confident that even Bosef made a mistake or two with the leaks or spoilers. For instance, Batman is not going to have his back broken by Bane. The likelihood of that transpiring is... well, remote.

Seconded. How conventional and open-ended for a much hyped "conclusion."
That shot is when the newly trained, newly improved Batman comes back into Gotham. He could simply be overlooking the destruction Bane as caused, or maybe he's looking at the city that he fought and gained control for. That shot is so iconic, so heroic that it has to be the latter.

The only way I can see that is if it's someone other than Bruce Wayne. AKA Nobody Cares Batman.

I dreamed (yes, dreamed) that the last shot of the film is Bruce Wayne, in Wayne Towers overlooking a city that's rebuilding itself.

The only way an ending shot with Batman looking over the city would work for me is as an interchangable flashback/flashforward type of thing, we'd know how the journey had ended but we'd still get a last second glimpse of Batman at his prime. If it was the last chronological shot of the trilogy then it'd be ridiculous, why rule out a Batman 4 if the legend is still going?

Only time i'd accept that is if it wasn't Bruce in the suit :funny:

Well, I'm kinda like 85% sure of the fact that this would be way too predictable. I think we're in for something quite different. Something that Only Nolan and crew knows of... And I don't think he would wanna reveal that final shot in any of the trailers or tv spots.

I have no idea how this trilogy will sign off. But I'm hoping to see, after that final image, the screen reading - THE END - .

I've always thought that shot of Batman on the bridge was the night before the battle, you can see the dawn coming on the horizon. If that's the case, I think it'd be one of the most powerful moments in this trilogy, especially remembering Harvey's quote : "The night is darkest just before the dawn, but the dawn is coming."

I had an idea that the final shot is of an empty Batsuit being put back in it's case, Bruce shutting the door on it.

Yeah it could well be. I used to think you could see loads of traffic in that shot but I was wrong.

Hey, can someone who have seen the prologue tell me if the crumbling buildings are in the beginning of the film?
