Im calling it right now...no other director this year has gone to such great lengths with their film as nolan has done with TDKR. Period. That alone is why nolan deserves an oscar award no matter what happens at the oscars. I can even tell you that even if these indie/blockbuster directors today were given the same budget as nolan they still would not have gone above and beyond with their film as nolan has done with TDKR.

Im calling it right now...no other director this year has gone to such great lengths with their film as nolan has done with TDKR. Period. It'll be close. I don't think the AMPAS is going to leave out PTA, Tarantino, Hooper, Spielberg, Jackson either though...Nolan's gonna' have his proverbial work cut out for him.
