If true, there is no reason as to why he would have a fake name to start with... it will be just because. It is a terrible way to force the name Robin into the film to appease fan boys. It also shows that Nolan is at the mercy of WB in that they made him keep the movie wide open instead of the "conclusive ending" Nolan has promised

Yeah actually on reflection it wouldn't really work. I think I was more surprised that the spoiler actually meant nothing for the story of the film. More just a wink at the fans if anything. I was expecting something major in the final act that turns a whole character around. Anyway surely

This is how I see it, but then I haven't been freaking out personally I've just given my opinion of it. It's late here. To me as extravagent as Bruce/Selina bearing a child or the cape being passed on is, I can still see it being executed with some purpose even if i'd dislike... this nod is just silly fan fiction imo. It won't ruin it for me by any stretch, just really pointless and something I'd have chosen to cut.

I can see a lot of directors doing this... but not Nolan. That is the only reason I can't really see it.

Maybe Blake always thought that the name "Robin" was corny (especially for a man) so he gave himself a generic, more *cough* manly name in John.

Even if it were true (which I doubt) maybe it will provide a nice moment of levity in the fallout of a potentially stressful and intense film experience. People are always saying that Nolan films take themselves too seriously and don't have a sense of fun, amirite?

I think people need to TONE down this "everybody is freaking out" talk. I personally would be pissed at myself if it is true. I know the risks when being a part of a spoiler forum, but this would take me a little by surprise. Not only that, if it is true...I have info out of context so I'm not going to enjoy THAT moment if it is pulled off nicely. And lastly, if it is true then I have a lot of questions as to "why"?

But I'd hardly say I'm freaking out, nor are other people who were curious.

I can live with changing his first name from Dick to Robin because Blake leaning over Bruce or something like "My real name...is DICK!" would just get the audience laughing. Im talking the general public who may not know Robins name in the comics lol. Robin Blake? Sounds fine and a cool nod to the fans, plus it could be integral to the end and how one chapter closes/a new one opens. But i find it hard to believe. Why the hell would he tell Bruce his real name and why would that be relevant to Bruce?
