its only a problem if its a comicbook at number 2. and you have still one year of batman comics.

this is a movie. and its a third movie. its the last movie from this guy who wrotte it. Nolan is a master of forward movement. he goes forward. he doesnt go back.
If what he says was true(which I doubt it, cause I don't think anybody saw Batman at the Heinz shoot get unmasked and have his back broken), and if it happened in the first 40 min of the movie, it would be pointless for Bruce to dress like Batman for the duration of the movie. The whole point of dressing like Batman, is to scare criminals, and to hide his identity. If people know he's Bruce Wayne, he might as well just dress up in regular SWAT gear and fight alongside the GPD.

I'm fairly confident all of Gotham will know Bruce Wayne is Batman, and that Heinz Field scene sounds awesome, if played out that way, it's got all kinds of epic written all over it.

Just think, all of Gotham will think Batman/Bruce Wayne is dead, yet he comes back years later to take back Gotham....

The ending will be mostly happy with an undercurrent of sadness I expect. Like Inception.

this is a comicbook movie. the suit has a bigger meaning .

in TDK the criminals already knew that he is a man in a costume with gadgets. they are not afraid of the monster. they are scared that the guy would brake their arms and legs.

if everyone knows that Bruce is batman and if he jumps down in the batman suit in the final battle it would be very important to the story and to Bruce Wayne as a character.

I was at the Heinz Field shoot, and of course they wouldn't shoot that there, probably shot it inside, duplicating the set with Green Screen.

You could argue that Bruce Wayne IS Batman, so regardless of who knows his identity, that's a part of him and he could feasibly come back as Batman.

I agree with this notion, the suit has a more grandeur and symbolic meaning than just fear.

I don't know... If they were planning on shooting something like that in the Green Screen, then why didn't they shoot Bane and him executing the scientist in the Green Screen as well? Same as him bringing out that device. All of those scenes sounds very spoiler-ish anyway.

I just don't see it that way. In my opinion, if he's found out by the masses, it would really undermine one of the main points of the character. Same with him just retiring at the end.

i respect that.

I will be really put out if all of Gotham learns Batman's identity. What a horrible idea! To me that would be worse than anything Schumacher did to Batman.

i think he breaks Batman without the jacket. remember the scene from the trailer? on the football hame he has a different west under the coat. plus he is wearing a coat.
so i dont think that the fight is happening under the football game.

I don't think Batman's identity will be revealed to Gotham. Atleast not in the scene where Bane breaks him.
Only because he is wearing a black mask when he visits Gordon in the hospital talking about Batman's absence.
Why would he need to wear a mask to hide his identity when it was already revealed he is Bruce?

The Batsuit serves a practical purpose also, it gives him a tactical advantage against most of his foes. It's not just a disguise.

What if its more like Gordon knows Bruce is Batman. Maybe a couple other key people by the end of the movie.

Regardless... I'm talking about the possibility of a scene Bane dragging Batman out in Heinz Field and unmasking him being shot in the Green Screen. Shouldn't the crowd be then asked to have a surprised look on their faces? I believe they were asked to just act afraid. Very afraid.

I'm more inclined to believe that rumor of the VIP Box with Mayor Garcia and Bruce Wayne being bombed.

who said Batman is going to get his Back broke at Heinz field!! That really doesnt make sense!! Batman needs his back broke at the beginning a la prolouge so that he can be away for awhile and then Bane can take over the city which would begin with the Earthquake machine at Heinz field!!

I'm not particularly fond of the idea but I think it's possible that his identity will be revealed. I just don't think it will be early on. It will most likely be towards the end specially if the ending is something like him dying and his death will inspire Gotham to do good and all that jazz.

i think that when it comes to movie a lot of fanboys think only about sequels. and they are scared that if the story is to risky that a sequel could not happen. i respect that for a first or second movie. but this is the last movie. if Gotham finds out that its Bruce so what ? AGAIN 2 or 3 guys from teh movie industry said that Nolan will end this movie so that nooen can make a sequel.

will inspire Gotham to do good and all that jazz.
You mean jazz hands Roy Scheider, because with all of these cops and thugs I think we're just asking for a musical number....

I think Gordon's scene is talking about how things changed following the smashing of the batsignal. Early scene. Not sure what I think about the stadium idea.

A musical number makes everything better... :woot:

we really dont know whats going to happen with this film all I know is that with everything going on in TDKR its going to be a bigger movie than TDK Period!! I saw TDK yesterday before going to work and it was alittle underwhelming!!

Underwhelming compared to whats going on with this new film:

Heinz field
Batwing
Bane breaking Bat etc

They're not going to break Batman's back in the beginning of the movie (if he even gets his back broke at all), because in order for it to mean anything you have to build it up.
