Something I was thinking about and would like to see...

The very end must contain a scene between Batman & Gordon...hopefully in some way Gordon knows Bruce is Batman, it just feels right for him to know in the end. For all they've been through in the first 2 movies, and what they will go through in the finale, INCLUDING Gordon begging Batman to come back, they must finish their story together with something strong and meaningful.

In Begins, it was the start of their relationship, 2 good men joining together to clean up Gotham.

In TDK, while they worked together essentially, they also shared a really great scene at the end with knowing Batman had to take the fall to protect Dent's image and the hope of Gotham.

In this film, they need closure almost, Butch & Sundance riding off into the sunset so to speak. I think it's obvious by the end, Batman will continue to be Batman, but Gordon should know who he is.

I agree with you and I truly hope it plays out this way.

Good ideas, however I think it's done for Gordon. He's getting older and this event will probably wear him out. I think at the end of this he's done the best for Gotham and hopefully is leaving it in a good place.

He's been the anchor this whole time; eventually even he has to move on

EDIT: I'm also not convinced Bruce will be Batman after this

Gordon could retire (along with Batman), I mean that option is very possible.

Can you imagine we never got Harvey Dent in TDK? Think of how awesome it would have been if at the end of TDKR Batman and Gordon retire because they trust the new district attorny to take over for them. Little did they know what Harvey's future had in store. What a tease!

If Batman were to hang up the cowl for good as the ending to rises, it would shock and amaze me. I have to say that is something I DEFINITELY wouldn't see coming, and as a person who has rooted for the bad guy since the day I cried when the ghost busters killed marshmallow man (I was 2) I would be that idiot in the theater giving a standing ovation even though nobody involved with the flick can see it. I never got that. Standing up and cheering? It aint like the usher is gonna tell Nolan about how loud we clapped. But I digress... I'm rambling now.

Why do ppl cheer in front of their TV when watching a sports game? It's not like the players can see or hear them.

Same idea.

It wouldn't shock me. Bruce becoming the hero with a face, replacing Dent and his tainted image.

On the contrary, I would actually be shocked if I heard Bruce continues on as Batman.

I know, it's just this personal hang up/phobia I have where when people give a standing ovation at a movie I feel like the ushers and projectionists are laughing like "These idiots are clapping and nobody who worked on the film can hear them! hahahaha!"

I guess it's a form of social anxiety, but I can't help it.

It would really shock you if he carried on as batty? I mean, to me that's the only logical way the studio would want it. I mean, TDK kind of ended on an "Empire Strikes Back" note with Bats taking the fall, so I assume TDKR will be the "Jedi" of the series, him being redeemed and permanent Batman. IDK though, just a theory.

The audience can hear each other. Part of elation is sharing it with someone else. Never seen a showing yet of TDK where they didn't cheer for Gordon's return

The return of Gordon and the Batpod flip got the most cheers during my first viewing of TDK.

It's great to have a spontaneous emotional reaction like that. No one has a problem with laughing at a comedy or gasping at a horror just because no one who made the film is there.

Yes. At this stage, it would. Nolan is going to bring his story to a conclusion. He has said that in reality these stories don't go on forever like they do in the comics. When you think about the themes of his Batman movies, Batman's identity coming out and Bruce becoming the philanthropic true prince of Gotham makes sense. If he deals with the pain of his parents death, the urge to go out every night diminishes as well.

I know, I know... I too cheer and clap and get into it, but I just feel funny and exposed when I stand up and clap at the end. IDK why, it's just a phobia of mine.

Just pretend Tom Hardy will make out with you if you give him a big enough applause :o

DAMN... well put. Now I can see it the way you guys do. It does kind of make sense to do it that way. In either case, I love kicking the hero when he's down and to see him retire would bring joy to my horrible little bad guy rooting six year old still trapped in my 27 year old body. LOL.

Joker's magic trick got a big cheer in my theater.

Breathe. Breathe in your fears. Face them. To conquer fear, you must become fear.

Im going to remember this quote when Im jumping up and down, clapping screaming and losing it like a mad man during the credits. So when you see the midnight showing, remember some random internet guy from AZ willbe losing his S**T because of something you said in a message board. Hopefully it'll make you laugh.

I have been watching nothing but BB and TDK for the past week. I found a goof in TDK that I hadn't seen before. You can see the stunt team (holding their ears) to the right.

Sorry not TDKR related, but I thought it was funny.

I'm glad I'm finally having an impact on here.

Im going to shout out "RAGANORK8 F**KING RULES!" JUUUST before the credits and that first smatter of applause so the whole theater at the midnight showing in Chandler fashion square mall will hear it. It's a BIG A** theater, too... so it'll echo. I PROMISE I'm going to do that. I'll remember even if I have to write it on my hand.
