Indeed, the first reveal and then it makes a triumphant return when going against the Tumblers and HEMTT truck

It may show up another time in the winter, for the shot where they flew it sideways, it's the same location as the photo of Batman in the winter with the beaten mercs. Not sure if that would be before or after the chase scene... could be Batman saving Gordon from his icy fate.

I believe the movie does pick up right after TDK, how else would they have Harvey Dents funeral? They waited 8 years to bury him? We know that Gordon speaks at this event as seen in the trailer, why would a chase after batman during the same time frame be out of the question? They could somehow jump 8 years ahead after that..just an idea

Also remember the rumors that Fox died as a hostage? I was thinking to myself last night that maybe that isn't true. We know a hostage dies (the Dr), so maybe whoever started the Fox rumor was wrong. I don't see any of the main characters from this series dying off honestly, but then again Rachael died in the last one lol. I guess we will all find out what really happens next June

Yep. Or the movie could begin right after TDK, and then jump ahead 8yrs, or it could do the Batman Begins non-linear storytelling, flashing back to between past and present. There are a lot of options.

Well, we will indeed find out when the movie comes out, but just for speculation, I'm very sure that Harvey Dent scene is in front of Wayne Manor, and doesn't place right after TDK. I don't think it has anything to do with burying Harvey.

I think it was identical to Harvey's funeral in TDK. It's shame we don't have a screencap because we could compare and see if Gordon was wearing the same suit.

the first scene with Gordon is meant to be the funeral from TDK. the only reason Nolan put this in the prologue is because of the one line that Gordon gives. '' I knew Harvey Dent. I was his friend. And it will be a very long time before some one inspires us like he did. I believed in Harvey Dent.''

boom and a Bane action happens . its meant to show who Bane will become to Gotham and than at the end when btman wins everything will be connected. storytelling.

i am not expecting every batfan to know every detail from BB and TDK. but for the love of god. saying that TDKR starts where TDK ended because of the funeral scene makes it even more crazy. the funeral in TDK happened after batman escaped. it happened days after batman escaped on the batpod from the police. now i ask you. you think this happens :

-flashforward to Dent funeral with Gordon talking. its a flashforward because it happened after batman escaped
-Bane opening scene
-flashback to Batman escaping the police.
-jump to 8 years in the future.

again the Dent funeral happened days after Batman escaped the police on the batpod.

I'm certain that opening shot of Gordon at Dent's funeral was for the prolouge only. Remember, alot of people who saw MI4 in imax wouldn't have known about TDKR prolouge, and as Bane is not as famous as the Joker, a good chunk of the audience wouldn't have known they were watching a Batman film.

Hell, I think the footage they used is probably left over from the TDK shoot. It doesn't make sense to open an Imax film with a standard film shot, then cut to imax footage 4 seconds later. Nolan will want to open with the shot of the plane in the field.

The Gordon scene was just setting a context for the audience who came to see MI4.

No, they don't put things in specially for the prologue. It's going to be in the film, its a quick reminder of where Gotham was and what the sacrifice in TDK was because that will be important info for TDKR
