Well, he was more official at the beginning of TDK because of his alliance with Gordon and the bat-signal.

But yes, you're both right that Batman would be much more feared by the public, criminal or otherwise. I think it will be a mix of fear and hate; the criminals will be more afraid of him and the "innocent" people of Gotham will hate him more because he killed their white knight (along with others). In response to all this Batman keeps a very low profile and Bruce becomes something of a hermit.

Thats an interesting point, will Batman be blamed for Dent's death also? or just the 5 dead? "I killed those people"...

I think he just kind of low keys it. No one sees him anymore but he still works.

When gordon is gone Foley comes back and agitates the issue by trying to catch him...our first step in pushing Gotham to a breaking point.

Is this speculation? I'm asking this because it sounds so exciting - especially the Foley-agitating-things part.

It's kinda like in Spidey 2...when Spidey's mask came off when he saved the train...end people saw tat he was just a teenage boy. That truth may have 'demystified' him a bit ("...he's just a kid..."), but it emboldened the people in their support of him. They were willing to take from his example and put their own lives on the line to protect him. Because he was their hero. Stuff like that.

It is just speculation, based on fact: We know Foley leads at least one charge to catch Batman, which is the police chase filmed in L.A.

Maybe in this final chapter...fear won't be the answer any more. Maybe this one's about hope and solidarity instead. Okay...more Supes' territory than Bats'...but its the last movie, yo? :D

I always took it to mean Dent was apart of the five. Even if he was trying to save Gordon Jr., Batman still tackled Harvey off the ledge. In a more poetic sense you could say Dent was also a victim of Two-Face.

I see. I had no idea that Foley lead that charge. Wow, this is so exciting - made my day.

Oh please. I mean that I want a better reason to think it will be good because 'that's what's happening'.
Right. Because saving innocent lives and leading the charge for Gotham to take back their city aren't good reasons.

Nope. It's better to assume that he's coming out in broad daylight just for ****s and giggles.

Maybe because this filmmaker has been able to do a lot of good/great things with what we may not initially expect or prefer so far....?

So Foley is kind of the Ellen Yindel from Dark Knight Returns? An anti-Batman police chief?

This sounds so stupid and crazy, but the people of Gotham would think that Batman is two-faced - because before he was fighting the criminals and saving the city - and now he became a killer and martyred the White Knight. So it's like Batman became Two-Face in their eyes.

Well...I've done my good deed for the night.

You can all witness Dragonator in his/her unraveled trollery.

Goodnight.

And for some of you I won't see in the next two days, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!

Whatever. I'm free to doubt this movie if I want to.

Im just curious how is death will be addressed, whether he died in a fall, Batman killed him, he was murdered by some thugs etc..

For Batman to be blamed for Dent's death would almost guarantee the publics hatred for him.

I was under that impression as well.

This.

There's certainly valid reasons for doubt, including personal preference. But can't you find some way of being open to the possibility of liking this particular instance and approach? I think you may have a better chance of liking it if you...y'know...want to like it, right...or at least leave the door open? We all have personal preferences, though. Personally, I don't like the particular ear designs on either suit...but I can deal with them, even though they're an essential part of Batman. :D

Possibly, I don't think his heart is in it though. Taking over Gordon's spot he's got to prove himself somehow. So do the thing Gordon never could: Catch Batman

I don't see how mocking is a 'good deed', but maybe you're part of some bizarre opposite religion where rudeness is niceness and opinions are bias.

I didn't mock you. I did what no one else has done (as far as i've seen) and used logic and reason to show how baseless your claims are and how you're not here for conversation but to assert an opinion. When faced with reason and logic you shut down and fell back on the "I can have an adverse opinion" line.

Which no one called into question.

Massi Furlan Reveals that He is Playing A Villain in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Confirming that He'll Be A Villain

“I was a stand up comedian in Italy. I guess Americans; they don’t find me funny because yeah I get cast as a villain most of the time. 99.5% of the time,” says Furlan. “The villain is very memorable. I’m not complaining about the stereotype.”

“If I could choose I would choose comedian,” admits Furlan.

On Working Through an Injury

“I worked with a broken finger and nobody knew,” reveals Furlan. “I didn’t want to tell anybody in production or Christopher Nolan or [have] anybody know that I had a broken finger. And my scenes were requiring using my hands quite often,” says Furlan.

“I broke it at the gym playing basketball,” gushes Furlan. “It still has not healed after 4 months.”

On What Nolan Likes in His Actors

“It was a very good experience. It was very professional. He knows exactly what he’s doing. He knows exactly what he wants. I noticed that my personality, I speak a lot. I talk a lot. So I realized that when I was on set that he doesn’t really like that type of person; the people that talk a lot.” So I adjust myself right away,” says Furlan. Because you know sometimes people—a lot of people try very hard to please others."

“Sometimes I notice they get annoying because they talk too much and they even give suggestions to the director.”

“If they want your suggestion, they’ll ask you. You know what I mean"

See, that's the problem. If you don't like the film's direction, then don't post in here anymore. Did you see me in the Green Lantern and Ghost Rider boards complaining about every little detail? No.

I knew damn well I was going to dislike the films, so why bother?

That's a very fancy way of calling me a troll.

Just because I don't like something, state that I don't like it, does not make me a troll. It's not my fault people choose to talk down to me. I simply disagree with having Batman out in the daylight. That's all it is. I don't think it works for this character, especially with the establishment of him being a symbol of darkness and fear. Leave the daytime rallying the troops stuff to Superman. The ending of TDK got it perfectly: Batman isn't supposed to be the person who rallies the troops, gets the praise he deserves, or all that stuff. He's SUPPOSED to always be on the run. If he's supposed to rally the troops, he should try to get the cops to crack down on crime by getting them to crack down on him, increasing their methods as a whole. Sort of like the end of Watchmen.

Ugh...this always happens.

I end up liking the guy in the end.

EDIT: look if I talked down to you, I only did it because its how you seem to address people, including me when they call you out for not having reasons for what you think. So in essence, this is a limited apology but, I hope you consider that A LOT of people seem to have an adverse opinion to your posting even when AGREEING with you. Hopefully you can read over this and see what we're talking about.
