See, that's the problem. If you don't like 's direction, then don't post in here anymore. Did you see me in the Green Lantern and Ghost Rider boards complaining about every little detail? No.

That doesn't mean I think the film is bad as a whole. I'm going to see the film, and maybe I'll like it, but if I see something I dislike, I'll say so. If I see something I like, I'll say so. There.

That's a very fancy way of calling me a troll.

Just because I don't like something, state that I don't like it, does not make me a troll. It's not my fault people choose to talk down to me. I simply disagree with having Batman out in the daylight. That's all it is. I don't think it works for this character, especially with the establishment of him being a symbol of darkness and fear. Leave the daytime rallying the troops stuff to Superman. The ending of TDK got it perfectly: Batman isn't supposed to be the person who rallies the troops, gets the praise he deserves, or all that stuff. He's SUPPOSED to always be on the run. If he's supposed to rally the troops, he should try to get the cops to crack down on crime by getting them to crack down on him, increasing their methods as a whole. Sort of like the end of Watchmen.

Maybe he'll realize that Gotham needs more than that....that as effective as he's been, it's only been a placebo thus far. At the end of TDK he was what Gotham needed at the time...a fall-guy. But that time is passed and they need more truth and hope. Can Batman help them find that? Is the fight ultimately bigger than what can be done from the shadows and just out of eyesight? Is his part up until now not enough...must he do more? Can he? Maybe that's the challenge...character-wise, story-wise, and film-wise.

I hope my whole explanation finally put the issue to rest as to why I think the scene doesn't work.

And forcing Batman out of his element and making him sacrifice his advantage for the sake of saving innocent lives doesn't add anything to the mythos?

This adds to what I was saying that Batman will save his city, no matter the time of day.

How so?

I understand what Lucas is trying to do with the extra additions to the movies, since there were limitations with what he envisioned. It is the original source material for the whole Star Wars franchise. The best analogy here that I can put with Star Wars would be like Da Vinci adding on to the Mona Lisa years later.

I don't see how it does. There are instances where Batman has been seen in daylight, so it doesn't necessarily add anything to it. It's just ones preference of what kind of setting/atmosphere you like to see your characters in.

I have already stated that Batman has been seen in daylight a lot in the comics, and that his actions define him more than the costume.

The hell are you talking about? B&R is one of the best comedies of all time. And no, I'm not kidding.

I love me some B&R.

I'm going out on a limb and say that he can still be a dark, shadowy character in broad daylight, with the right storyteller. Crazy idea, I know.

Understand if there are trepidations, though. To be honest, I'm still not sold on Catwoman yet.

Confirming that He'll Be A Villain

“I was a stand up comedian in Italy. I guess Americans; they don’t find me funny because yeah I get cast as a villain most of the time. 99.5% of the time,” says Furlan. “The villain is very memorable. I’m not complaining about the stereotype.”

“If I could choose I would choose comedian,” admits Furlan.



On Working Through an Injury

“I worked with a broken finger and nobody knew,” reveals Furlan. “I didn’t want to tell anybody in production or Christopher Nolan or [have] anybody know that I had a broken finger. And my scenes were requiring using my hands quite often,” says Furlan.

“I broke it at the gym playing basketball,” gushes Furlan. “It still has not healed after 4 months.”



On What Nolan Likes in His Actors

“It was a very good experience. It was very professional. He knows exactly what he’s doing. He knows exactly what he wants. I noticed that my personality, I speak a lot. I talk a lot. So I realized that when I was on set that he doesn’t really like that type of person; the people that talk a lot.” So I adjust myself right away,” says Furlan. Because you know sometimes people—a lot of people try very hard to please others."
