How long will this film be? I would love for it to be a 3 hour epic, but I'm not everyone - But it has to at least last as long as TDK did. And I hope the escalating tempo set in TDK is used as well, that film is non-stop.

As long as it needs to be. I don't imagine it being shorter than 2 and a half, but you never know.

A lot has to happen:

1) Explanation of everything over the past eight years.
2) State of Wayne Enterprises/Lucius.
3) Explaining Bane and his opposition to Gotham.
4) An incarceration and an escape.
5) Batman recovering from health.
6) Introducing Selina and Talia.
7) We know one major character gets hospitalized, a second one has been said to be by multiple sources.
8) I could go on...

I thought TDK went a little long, but only after the tower battle. The pacing was perfect up until then. I love what they did with Dent, but it felt like what happened to Dent alone deserved a sequel in its own right.

I feel like the pacing won't be as quick in the new one, but BB wasn't a quick movie either. I feel like it's going to epic, dense, deep, and long. I imagine the story won't be quite as complex as TDK. The Joker was a schemer; I feel like Bane's actions will be more direct.

True, TDK was very psychological, Bane is a bomb thrower, I like his style. I knew nothing of him before the Prologue, and I like what I see already. I don't know why I'm angry about this - but, Bane has Batman's gear! He has a couple Tumblers, he has his Batplane thing, I really want to take a nap and wake up in July.

hey guys and gals,

new guy here! Looooooooooongtime lurker and reader of this forum (since 2009 to be exact). lakerskobe made me finally register, as crazy as that must sound. I read the thread and thought to myself, "Hey, if that guy can talk to you guys (more or less), my english should suffice" t:

I'm a batfan since the age of 8 (thats twenty years ago, to be exact) and really love what Nolan has done for the character in the film medium and in the eyes of the general public. Here in Germany comics and superheroes are manly considered childish by most people, so I always got a weird look when I told someone I love Batman, but since Nolans movies almost 80% of the people I talk to nowadays simply say "So do I". That impact shouldn't be understated.

So back to topic:
someone a few pages back said that he thinks Bane isn't part of the League of Shadows, because of how he and his men operate. I think that could be true, but the league also could have changed after Ra's death rather dramaticly. I mean, its 8 years later! Who knows, maybe the person who took over simple changed things up because it didn't work the old way, when they tried to take over Gotham for the first time.
I mean, yeah, of course I still hope for a ressurected Ra's, but I don't hold my breath.

Overall I cannot wait for this frikkin' movie to come out already! To tide me over until July my girlfriend gives me the noble collection Dark Knight cowl as a birthday present in a few weeks. A nerd needs his batfix!

What I would like to see in the new trailer:

-Catwoman in action! Yes, I want this trailer to be catwoman centric. Show us Catwoman in action with the goggles up and down.

-Catwoman talking. Give us some lines! I think marketing Catwoman in the next trailer is key! If they don't do this, then that's a huge mistake on WB parts.

-Winter! Part of this movie takes place in winter, but you don't really get that sense in the first two trailers. Sure you see some snow. Now show us a lot of snow. I think the fact that the movie takes place in winter is one of the coolest things about it.

-Batman! Show us the big guy himself. He's barely in the theatrical trailer. Also, give him a line!

I'm starting to wonder if 'the fire' rising which Bane speaks of, is the League of Shadows' revenge for Bruce Wayne's kindling of the explosion of the old LoS headquarters in the mountains.

Ras did return and say 'when a forest grows too wild, a purging fire is necessary' as well as 'you burnt my house to the ground and left me for dead'. Methinks that 'the fire rises' is Bane's way of saying this is payback, not only for Bruce's demolition of their stronghold, but the final destruction of Gotham by way of his fiery hand.

so here is something i have been thinking about lately... at the end of TDK, Dent dies, Gordon and his family are there with Dent's dead body, and the police are chasing Batman from the scene. I guess i havent thought about this before and excuse me if i am behind the curve, but I think in TDKR, Batman is going to be accused of murdering Dent AND all the cops that the Dent killed. I just always thought that Batman was accused of killing the cops, but i NEVER thought about him actually being blamed for Dent's murder as well. No wonder he goes into an 8 year hiding period... LOTS of folks will want Batman to be brought to justice for murdering Gotham's "White Knight".

If this is the case, once Bane reveals that Harvey Dent went nuts and was killing folks - it will reverse the public opinion of Batman and in turn, HELP Batman mount his army against Bane.
