Who else is so annoyed by the lack of news to the point of boycotting this movie?!

plus they dont want to over hype the movie to the point that it will never live up to the hype a'la cloverfield

No, I have no problem with anyone not being excited/impressed, just like I have no problem with anyone saying that their favorite flavor isn't strawberry or the like. But if someone is implying that WB should be concerned with that or do something to change that, as if they're somehow entitled to that.....that's not really right when what they're ultimately looking to achieve seems to be in good order....which is in this case selling tickets. That's being rather selfish, really.

Clear enough on that. Again, if that's not what you mean and you're simply stating that WB isn't doing more.....not implying that WB should be doing more......then it ultimately doesn't apply to you.

I agree...it doesn't look like they're doing more...probably because they don't really have to. Whatever extra marketing isn't out there is more than made up for by the fact that it's another Batman movie...so marketing is doing a pretty good job of not doing too much and saving WB that extra time and money.

You obviously do of you wouldn't have started belittling other films just to hammer your point about the purported quality of TDKR.

The only complaining I've done about WB on this thread involved either Green Lantern or their segregation of DC Entertainment.

Nothing to agree with. I never said they weren't doing enough. I just don't like what they've put out to date, which isn't a reflection of the marketing department as it is of the filmmakers.

I see what you mean and that's very reasonable - but it's not surprising since you're a journalist (or at least what a journalist should be like :oldrazz:). However, haven't you seen the high-res versions of the EMPIRE pics? Totally clean without any logos or anything - those are the kind of pics that get my mouth to water.

That's what I included in the four to five revision because those two were released by WB the week after Empire had them out (which sucks for Empire because they lost their exclusive). I can only count five official stills then: Batman w/ gun, Catwoman on Batpod, Bane shirtless, Bane and Batman, Bane and photo of Dent. Am I missing any?

Batman on Batpod, Batman walking over unconscious mercs

They should go on complete and utter lockdown in terms of news (as if they haven't already), and let the avengers, prometheus and spider man pass their openings. Then 2 weeks before july 20th, they could go on a major marketing blitz tv spots, billboards, papers, magazines, happy meals, all centered around the fact that it's a TDK sequel and it will still make a megaton of money, but it's not going to happen 2 weeks before, it's gonna happen a whole 3 months before. Yet people still complain all because a) they want bragging rights that TDKR will be the biggest film ever. b) they need to ***** over SOMETHING about this production, because lord knows if a couple of fanboys get rowdy and happy about something, someone needs to bring them down to ground level and ruin it for them.

Bane looking down on an (off screen) Bruce Wayne.

Yes! That's right! Completely forgot about these. Thought the first one was from TDK at first.

Ok so the tally is at 7 official stills right? That's not bad at all for being this far out. But I still don't like any except the Bane one.

Nah. WB didn't release the HQ of that (and the other EW pics) which is a shame because I wanted the HQs of the Bruce and Batman ones. :(

This just dawned on me.... Bane removes Batman's broken mask, will Batman show his make up? If you guys remember the infamous Keaton no eye make up mask removal in Batman Returns, do you guys think they will show Bruce Wayne's eye make up?

Like I said, I don't count em as official production stills until the studio releases them. I'll report about them, sure, but you really never know what is a studio release and what's not nowadays. Even EW has goofs up. Last week they posted a picture of Justin Hartley as Green Arrow for the FIRST LOOK at the new Arrow TV pilot. Took them almost an hour to figure out what was wrong.

The prologue to me was the best piece of marketing thus far. I know it wasn't available to everyone and sympathize, but personally once I sat through that in IMAX and Bane famously uttered, "The fire rises", I was 100% sold that this film was going in a direction that excited me as a fan and a moviegoer.

My favorite part about anticipating a Batman film has always been letting my imagination run wild with possibilities. Both the prologue and trailer have allowed me to do that, so I dig the approach thus far. Frankly, I'm just grateful to such an amazing filmmaker working so diligently on giving us great movies to be cherished for years. Makes not knowing things so much easier.

No, I don't think there's supposed to be make up, story wise.

Nah.
