....'fault'....for.....?

Just because you and a relatively few others (in the grand scheme of things) can't get excited enough by the fact that another Batman movie is coming out with or without extra pre-released material doesn't mean that they need to compensate for you, when the vast majority of moviegoers (and including possibly you and the few who feel similarly) will very likely still crowd to theaters for it. Frankly, it's more your cross to bear than theirs, because they've a much better hand at this juncture. 'Real' indeed.

Your 'excitement' isn't the prerogative of the people who invest and distribute this picture and its marketing (or lack thereof), if their bottom-line looks to be in good prospects. So...tough, I guess. This isn't a service.

First off, you were the one alluding to the other superhero movies coming out this year as reason I am not satisfied with TDKR footage. Don't be an ass, you know that's exactly what you meant with that "cereal box" comment. Wrong. I'm more hyped for those movies because the footage and marketing items I've seen for them have me more excited. TDKR had a boring teaser and a decent trailer. Then two teaser posters and three official stills. None of which have impressed me thus far. Has nothing to do with ANY other movie coming out this year. TDKR has to merit my attention all on it's own.

Start reading responses before you answer. I stated that the ONLY reason I am anticipating this movie is because it's Nolan's last. That in and of itself isn't enough for me. I'm not a Nolan fanboy who puts his vest wearing ass on a pedestal. Just like every other director he needs to prove each and every movie to me.

Wrong. Not once on my time on this thread have I asked for another trailer, photo, Batman shaped pancake, rubber nipple tweak or viral campaign. Incorrect assumption #2.

Let me state it as simple as possible so there aren't any comprehension issues: I believe TDKR will make hella money. I think it will be very popular. But at this point in the game I am not impressed by the casting, costume design, possible storyline or footage they have revealed. That could absolutely change in the next week, month or three months, but basing my enthusiasm today on the possibility of being impressed later seeing pointless. I haven't written the movie off, at all, and I AM excited to see it, but at this point I'm not impressed. How that is difficult for even diehards to understand is beyond me.

Cool story bro.

The only films I've seen that actually have a use for 3D are Avatar and Hugo. Luckily, I don't get headaches or anything from it.

Agreed and agreed. Every other live-action 3D film I've seen has given me a headache. Animated films are the best to see in 3D IMO

Again...will that keep you from buying a ticket, or make you keep others from buying a ticket?

So does WB, and that's all that really matters, or should matter, to them...hence the desire by some for more 'excitement', to be more 'impressed' or what have you from advanced material etc. is irrelevant...and that's why it's not there, and/or why they don't have a responsibility to change it. Clear enough?

Sure, you feel that way...again, your cross to bear and best of luck with that. :O

Don't make it out as if it's somehow WB's moral duty to impress you more if they feel their ultimate goal is already achieved. That's being an ass. If you're not, and simply stating that you're not excited just like the sky isn't red...never mind. ;) Maybe the movie will be good enough to put that behind you.

Isn't Avengers May for the U.S? I wouldn't expect a trailer until then.

Didn't TDK's final trailer get released on May 4? I think it did.

This has nothing to do with your post but there were more than 3 official stills :oldrazz:. Which ones are you talking about?

Clear enough... on what? You apparently have a problem with anyone who doesn't think we've gotten perfect marketing products for this film. Either that or you own stock in Time Warner and take my comments personally. Regardless, you can't convince me or anyone else to be more excited for this movie until other stuff comes out that gets us amped.

Maybe that's why some people want more promo items now instead of later, they want to be hyper excited but need something to fuel the fire.

*Prepares myself for the onslaught of Arnold Freeze puns*

Haha yeah I figured someone would mention that. Maybe I underestimated and there have been four to five. But by "official" I mean studio released production stills through their press site. Other stuff like EW, Total Film and Empire fall under the exclusive still category until WB releases the hi-res versions.

I don't know if you've noticed, but some websites try to use set photos, screencaps from trailers or maniped promos as exclusive studio photos. That's why I only trust what I see on studio press sites :yay:

Thanks, but your story was cooler.

Come at me bro

I see what you mean and that's very reasonable - but it's not surprising since you're a journalist (or at least what a journalist should be like :oldrazz:). However, haven't you seen the high-res versions of the EMPIRE pics? Totally clean without any logos or anything - those are the kind of pics that get my mouth to water.

No, I have no problem with anyone not being excited/impressed, just like I have no problem with anyone saying that their favorite flavor isn't strawberry or the like. But if someone is implying that WB should be concerned with that or do something to change that, as if they're somehow entitled to that.....that's not really right when what they're ultimately looking to achieve seems to be in good order....which is in this case selling tickets. That's being rather selfish, really.

Clear enough on that. Again, if that's not what you mean and you're simply stating that WB isn't doing more.....not implying that WB should be doing more......then it ultimately doesn't apply to you.

I agree...it doesn't look like they're doing more...probably because they don't really have to. Whatever extra marketing isn't out there is more than made up for by the fact that it's another Batman movie...so marketing is doing a pretty good job of not doing too much and saving WB that extra time and money.

Who else is so annoyed by the lack of news to the point of boycotting this movie?!

Hey you've hit 10 k, congrats.

Aw man...I didn't even notice! Wish it could have been done on 'friendlier' terms, but hey..I still ultimately like the people here and mean ill will at all.
