Had to dig deep for this post...this idea came to me during a debate where I was trying to state my case that it'd be possible to configure a post-TDK Batman story that meshed well with TDKR.

It's obviously not a fully developed idea but the broad strokes are pretty much there.
Awesome man. I remember reading this post now. I think something like this feels natural after TDK, and as appealing as a Riddler stalker story could be around that time period, what you wrote makes more sense. A more fleshed out version of what you wrote would be pretty cool.

I however (don't want to open up this can of worms again..) believe that Mr. Reese was a bit of a Riddler nod myself.

5 years ago today TDK came out.

Happy memories.

Thanks. You know, there's no reason there couldn't be some Riddler in that story too. Could add a whole layer of tension if there's also some mysterious P.I. leaving Bruce clues that he's figured out the whole coverup. Just depends how much work I'd want to put into fleshing everything out, heh.

I remember it being ridiculously hot in England when I went to see TDK, just like it is now.

Trying to work, but my laptop is burning into my wrists. Argh.

I remember TDK's opening night very well. My friend and I got the last two tickets to our showing and had to sit in the 2nd row, but it was amazing nonetheless. And then the next day I got to see it in IMAX :D

I guess that would exclude you then :cwink:

*A sudden existential moment hits ThePhantasm. His entire life has been a lie. He thought they all had been laughing with him, but they had only been laughing AT him. He flees the scene weeping uncontrollably*

But he can take it. Unlike Batman. :cwink:

Yeah man. A good cry and then I'm right back out there fighting crime

5 years and still the best CBM to date IMO. I wonder how long it will take for it to be topped.

Good question, heck how long till we get something that its equal let alone better.

I think The Amazing Spider-Man 3 has a good shot if they're doing the Green Goblin again and Gwen's death.

I organized a huge midnight showing for TDK for a ton of kids who had just graduated high school with me. I made a big Facebook invite and encouraged everyone to buy tickets in advance and come out to see the movie in the same showing that my friends and I were going to. That night, my theater had 18 screens that were all showing TDK and were all sold out, so the theater was a madhouse and I loved it.

Roughly 60 people I knew wound up in my showing, so my "event" was a big success and it was truly gratifying that the film wound up being so damn amazing. Great memories of crowd reactions. The whole theater went insane with cheering and applause when Batman flipped his Batpod on the wall, among other things.

My midnight experience for TDKR was quite similar. 18 sold out screens, and about 15 of my core group of friends were in my showing. This time, I had already seen the film so it was very cool to witness the crowd reactions when I already knew how things played out. But TDK was just on a different level because of the excitement for the Joker and just the excitement in general. It was the first time I had seen people going so crazy over a Batman movie, and as a life-long fan, it was a really indescribable feeling. Some may say they don't care if the "mainstream" masses are into Batman, but it made me feel really good to witness that level of sheer excitement over a Batman film.

I saw TDK at midnight with the entire work crew. We ended our shift and headed straight for the movies. There were probably twenty of us total, it was a ton of fun. And everyone, I mean EVERYONE was blown away by the movie.

Hahaha I just found a Tumblr called "Seinfeld Rises."
