I don't know about you guys, but every time Robin John Blake spoke, I laughed my ass off.

I love how you always call him by his full name, Trav.

The funniest thing is when you had Blake as your avvy and had something along the lines of "in the Robin John Blake cave". :lmao:

Begins has its weak dialogue moments but in hindsight I think it is easily one of Goyer's best scripts. Maybe the best.

Besides fear, fear, FEAR! And a cheesy line here or there, I've got no issues with BB dialogue.

The "fear" redundancy thing is such a Goyer trope. Man of Steel was sodden with the thematic question of how the world will react to Superman repeatedly being asked and never actually answered.

Also, giant machines the villains uses in his big plot. Most superhero movies have this identical trope but Goyer is probably the one who most popularized it. Literally every superhero film he's been involved with has that, including the DK trilogy. The difference with TDKT is that each film manages to change up and subvert the trope to make it interesting.

I have to ask where did the and stuff bit come from because he never says that in the movie. Is that just like your own spin on it?

It's Trav's catchphrase. It sky-rocketed him to Hype super-stardom.

The great thing about catchphrase comedy is that it never gets old. No matter how many times the joke gets made it just keeps getting funnier. Every single time.

Yeah, like this one.

It came from my genius brain.

You and Steve Urkel would be so lucky to be in my Hype friends list. Maybe one day, when you reach stardom like me...maybe.

Probably not, though.

Like, totally and stuff.

Harsh, dude. After all we've been through together... :(

Say what you will about some of Nolan's design choices, but Joker, Two Face, Bane, Catwoman, and Scarecrow look really comic booky in their designs. I mean Ra's and Talia could probably walk through a room and not draw attention (heck Ra's did at the Wayne Manor party).

Hated Catwoman's design from the neck up. Why the heck couldn't it be a cowl? I ain't even averse to the cat-ear headband, but that gizmo version was cringeworthy. Just go full 60's, that would've been loads better.

Her look practically was the full 60's costume. All it was missing was a gold necklace and belt lol.

I would have preferred the cowl at first but i dug it. There was a function to it. She's robbing a safe or trying to see better at night with these goggles. She flips them up and they're suddenly cat ears. I dont know about the rest of you guys but i thought it was pretty damn clever.

As much as i love the cowl, i also love seeing Catwoman with her long dark hair flowing. Both looks are awesome. I dont think we're going to see that for a long time. I think the next couple of versions will have the cowl. Short hair for Selina maybe.

Should I really be surprised that TDKR is winning in the poll against Avengers: AOU? I think it was the now lost poster, Fudgie, who said TDKR wouldn't age well down the line, but it seems like it's getting it's due against new contenders like AOU. Then again, it's only been almost 3 years since the film was released.

Edit: Just checked the poll and it's getting closer now, lol.

Those polls essentially mean nothing around here.

Yet people keep constantly making them, especially against TDK because it never loses in them, so people start making ludicrous ones like pitting it against movies like Citizen Kane!

During my long sojourn of the interwebs, I have noticed that people tend to use this line when they have no other tricks left in their debates. And, funnily, the future reception of the movie tends to align exactly with their thoughts.

"Y...you'll see, one day, one day, this movie will be loved".

"Y...you'll see, one day, one day, this movie will be hated".

"Man of Steel may be hated now, but like Blade Runner and 2001 before it, it will one day be loved".

It reminds me of when defeated villains start barking at the hero in rage and start making deluded declarations.

My take on this? One day, one day, a meteorite will crash onto the Earth, causing a massive EMP shockwave that destroys all our electronic entertainment. The odds of that happening are the same as predicting how a movie will be received. Stop worrying about the future, focus on now.

^ Very true.

IIRC, Fudgie had some good arguments against the film. I forget why he got banned, though.
