Trying to get through Mad Men. It's slow going though, cause the show is slow. Anyone know if it picks up?
Nah, it doesn't pick up in the pace department honestly. Like Slim said it's an acquired taste.

Average. I thought it was entertaining enough, but it being Spider-Man, it should have been a lot better. Unfortunately, Connors/The Lizard got shafted big time.
Sounds about right. Further thoughts? Did you like Raimi's films prior to viewing or no?

Thanks for your input.

I should be seeing it next week.

We'll compare notes, I may go see it this Sat or Sunday if I dont do the beach. But I must see it this weekend. Then, I'm to get me the game.

That we shall!

Did you like Raimi's films before this?

I already got the game. There's only one big spoiler that they repeat over and over throughout.

I'm waiting for more reviews from y'all before seeing TSM. I was really hoping it'd be better than Raimi's, but I'm starting to lose my hope...

:(

My rankings would be:

Spider-Man 2 (9/10)
Spider-Man (8/10)
The Amazing Spider-Man (7/10)
Spider-Man 3 (5/10)

Excluding the third one, Raimi's films were much more consistent (both in story and overall quality) than TAS.

:wall:

The Raimi/Reboot conflict. It never stops. It's like Marvel/DC.

'Tis the way it is, my friend. Unless I'm much mistaken, the reason for the reboot is what's causing the conflict...

Spider-Man (8/10)
The Amazing Spider-Man (7/10)
Spider-Man 3 (5/10)

How does 3 even make it on the board?

Toby McGuire and Kirsten Dunst were the main reasons I didn't like Raimi's Spider-man movies. Both were way to soap-opera... their acting just wasn't real...

After seeing TASM, I was left feeling bored and was looking at the time to see if it's over yet. There's some great scenes but the majority of it doesn't compare to the fun and charm that was Raimi's Spider-Man.

I've already made up my mind that I won't be seeing TASM. If it wasn't out the same month as TDKR i'd maybe consider it if reviews got better, but now it's a no go.

If you switched out SM1 with TASM, that would be my scores for the movies.

I hope it makes enough money to warrant a sequel. I feel getting a second installment could really distance itself from Raimi's name and send Spidey in a new direction. Ironic to say that after we already got our first installment of a re-boot :o

Yea I do, lol, we talked about this remember?? I have love for the Raimi films (Sorry Nev) because well, they arent complete crap. It was good for the time, and even though 3 was very meh, I did get some enjoyment out of it, so it's not a complete fail imo, but 3 does suck :funny:

Again, they worked for that moment in time. Now, lets fast foward... I think this time they may have nailed it. We are def getting a sequel and it's planned to be a trilogy, so whatever didnt work in the 1st maybe will get worked out by the 2nd installment. I have confidence in this new series.

I just really hope the series progresses, I dont wanna get to 3 and then what? Anouther reboot?? Idk if I can take anouther reboot...

Apparently, according to Ifans, [blackout]the guy at the end isn't Norman[/blackout].

Who the hell is it then ?

Agreed. It's why I can't enjoy the originals either.

Sorry dude, it's just a question I ask to see whether people liked the past films or not. Chill out.

Hm. So it's pretty much like I expected in quality. Not totally surprising. Is it true that they cut a bunch of stuff?

Aw. Then again, I wasn't expecting it to surpass Raimi for me. And on its own, it sounds like a rather mediocre to average film.

That's probably a good decision.

The RT score keeps on dropping. I don't know if that matters to you, but it's at a 72% and seems to be getting lower rather than higher.

Ha, I have a terrible memory. :awesome:

It could definitely improve as it goes on. I just hope they go in a completely different direction this time. Not in tone, but in storytelling. But with the Transformers writers on TASM2, I don't have much hope for that being anything more than average either.
