BvS The Unabashed SPOILER Thread. ENTER AT OWN RISK. - Part 3

Given how BvS ends, this is how JL should begin.

"THE DAY SUPERMAN RETURNED": Darkseid is already waging war on humanity. When it seems like all hope is lost, Superman returns in spectacular fashion.

He gets introduced to the other members of the team, and then we flash back to how this crisis started. We discover that the team NEEDS Superman to lead them, and then we jump back to the present as the united JL takes the fight to Darkseid.

This would continue the theme of each movie beginning with an apocalyptic battle.

I would also like to point out a couple of other things RE: The fight:

1. Martha (or Lois) dying is the possible 1% chance Supes goes bad that Bruce has knightmares about. Thus, Supes not turning Bats into pulp to save his mom (something Bats' behavior makes justifiable, imo) shows that he has the moral strength to not let that 1% happen. This is why they better not go the Injustice route: Superman has already proven himself above that.

2. Bruce hopefully realizes that he was essentially causing this 1% chance with his own behavior....this is a valuable lesson. Would it have been learned if Bruce hadn't gotten so close to killing Supes? Probably not....thus Bruce's "win" is a needed part of his character development.

Not really. She was pointless to be honest. Easily dispatched with no remorse

Mercy is just Lex's assistant, always at his side. Untill he lets her die at the senate bombing

1. Mercy was most prominent in the party scene, outside of that she's just a face. No focus on Lex letting her die as far as I'm concerned. Wish she hadn't died, wasn't really needed imo. Tao did good with the little she though.

2. Chemistry. There wasn't a lot of interaction between Superman and Wonder Woman, they didn't talk at all as Clark and Diana. Bruce and Diana have pretty good chemistry, definitely some tension between the two. I think Bruce figured she was a Selina Kyle type...at first anyway.

Thanks for the answers, guys.

I doubt Darkseid will reach Earth in JL....my guess is JL will be more about the team coming together and discovering what threat Lex is talking about in the jail cell. I suspect LOD is probably the major villain. Lex breaking out of jail will probably happen in SS.

You're focusing way too much on the physical fight itself and ignoring the philosophical battle behind the whole thing. I am a huge Batman fan, but his win is not a thing to be proud of. Superman may have lost technically, but Batman lost mentally. He lost philosophically. He was not heroic. He was just as bad as the criminals he puts away. Maybe worse. That was the point. And it all played out beautifully.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you. It's so frustrating that people aren't getting this.

At the end of the movie when he's in jail, does Lex say "ping, ping, ping"?

Either way, I think it should open with Superman returning. I don't think he should be sitting out the majority of the JL movie. If we all know he's coming back, then just get to it. Don't beat around the bush.

It's important to know that the "V" in the title is not about the physical fight, but the philosophies of these two characters.

:applaud:applaud:applaud This is incredibly important and something I think a lot of a people miss.

Agreed. Part of me thinks we'll get a Batman x Superman to represent the collaborative effort.

That would be kind of neat. I suspect they'll probably stick with the traditional Batman/Superman, but it's be interesting to do Batman x Superman.

Might seem gimmicky in hindsight. I'll leave that to the professionals lol.

hey guys! i'm a newbie here, for those who saw the movie. how fight scenes does Batman have and does he fight a tough goon or baddie(like KGBEAST)

People are describing it as humiliating for Superman but the more I hear about it, the more it sounds like Lois saves Batman a trip to the hospital when she arrives at the scene.

Clark almost ended Man of Steel early when Zod was yelling at Martha, there's no telling what he might do if pushed to save her.

Not really. I wish there was a scene like that but his foes that push him are obviously Supes and Doomsdayy.

That's what is coming across here.

Yeah, sorry, Batman is given his due, it's a good well thought out fight between the two but for most of the movie I think it is clear Superman is presented as being capable of ending Batman in a microsecond IF HE SO CHOSE.

That could come into play in one of the JL movies, depending on how they handle Superman's return.

thanks for the reply! well maybe next time,we can get a that fight. the movie seem like its going to be great anyway :)

Is GL in the film?

No. But then I didn't think a no name with Dan's resume was ever going to be Hal Jordan anyway, just as I never believed in secret Jason Todd, Joker or many other cameos.

figure that much about GL,they probably decided to drop that ideal and go with an actor with a big name lol

Roach, you write screenplays-- what were your thoughts on the knightmare? What did it mean? Did you think it was jarring?

I did think it was jarring but I think that was on purpose. I think it's supposed to be this 'WTF' is going on moment. I think what it meant was that if they continued on their current course Martha would have died and Superman would have gone evil and took over the Earth while working for Darkseid. I think the Flash went back in time to try to prevent this from happening and appeared to Bruce.
I seem to recall in the Final Crisis that when Darkseid approaches Earth is causes people to have nightmares and this might be an aspect of that.
