Just putting this out there....about Supes calling his mother "Martha".....I was 52 years old when my mother died....and not once in those 52 years did I call her by name...she was always mom. Mom.
Did he say "I have to save Martha!" or did he say "Please save Martha!"? Because if he's pleading with Batman to save his mother in his final moments, it makes sense that he'd use her name.
As I was saying. Although it was bonkers, it at least gave us the nuclear emanciated Superman homage from DKR. That was an effing creepy visual and OH MY GOD is it going to scar the poor kids who go to see this in the theatre lol.
I have told people...My mother's name is - "Jane" - but I never said - Take this to Jane - or Jane is in the hospital - if my mother was in danger....I would say I have to save MOM....and if I wanted someone else to do it, I would say please save my MOM. No one I know refers to their mother with their first name.

How big was the distance between Gotham and Metropolis? It felt really short in the movie. I have always imagined that they aren't that close.

verdict? still as good or better than first time?

Although the Nuke scene was absolutely off the rails bonkers in it's excution.
That is the President and Swannick see that Supes is pushing Doomsday into space (EFFECTIVELY SOLVING THE PROBLEM) and they decide "Hey let's fire a nuke, for NO REASON WHATSOEVER.... OVER AN AMERICAN CITY!!!!
I'm sorry but that part defied all logic.

That is what I got too but I wasn't sure. It felt really odd that they were so close together. In this movie they are across a bay...about the same distance as San Francisco and Oakland.
Maybe he was still protecting his secret identity
That far up in near space it wouldn't have hurt Metropolis.
Yup. One of the generals even said that.
Hilarious how they had to keep beating the audience over the head with that stuff.

During my time in the Navy we did nuclear detonation drills. Lot things factor into surviving a nuclear explosion. As long as you are not at ground zero and you take preventive measures you have a good chance of surviving

Yeah I loved Lex and his plan. That scene on the landing strip where Supes is ready to pummel him and he drops those photos of his mom, I had chills when Supes rages and his eyes start glowing, phew !
And how great is that Ma Kent rescue scene? We saw some of it in the last trailer but god, Batman was so badass there.
