The Walking Dead The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 14 "The Grove" Discussion Thread

It's courtesy to avoid spoiling , but in a thread where people are openly discussing an episode while it's on television it's to be expected. I just don't understand how anyone could waltz into the thread not expecting to be spoiled on some level.

Another great episode, they're like butter....on a roll.( learned that from Amazing Race tonight)

Bob is the only one left that was introduced at the start of the season in the prison group

Yeah. If we were really concerned about not spoiling anyone, pretty much the entire discussion about the episode would be covered in black bars and after a while that just gets old.

Well this was about the darkest episode the show's done.

For real. It's like "Oh, hey, you see what just went down at the prison? Well... hang on to your hats, because it's about to get a WHOLE lot worse."

The little girls were far better actors than they have ever been given. Mika character did what she portrayed, the innocent child. Lizzy was a give you nightmares sociopath.

I predict they'll both have busy careers

You've just given me new reaction gifs to use when Hypesters overreact to casting news/photos/trailers/etc. And for that, I thank you.

I've really enjoyed the writing this half of the season but damn, hands down this episode was on some BSG emotional level. One of the most brilliant episodes of TV I've ever seen and I never thought I'd say that about this show. I was ready to skip over this episode too after I saw the preview last week. I watched it with 3 of my friends and we were all just silent the last 25 minutes.

the first half of this episode i wanted to vomit on whoever was writing Lizzy's dialogue. but the second half was pure awesome. glad to see the show still has a bit of their balls left.

TWD raises the bar almost weekly. It's more than just a short-term hit. When it's all said and done, it will be regarded as one of the best shows in history across all genres.

Yeah the story for the episode was perfect but I just wish some of the dialogue was stronger.

OK I'm confused is Judith still alive? I didn't see her with tyrese and Carol

Tyreese had her in the baby carrier on his back. She was covered with a blanket.

Just an aside...they NEEDED this episode. Last week, The Walking Dead was beat in the ratings by Resurrection. I don't recall them losing in a head to head battle with anyone but Football ever since the show debuted. However, there is no question that The Walking Dead will be THE show everyone is talking about tomorrow. That might shake a few people who had changed over to come back.

Wow. Roughest episode to watch in a long time.

Yeah but that was a premiere, a very hyped one. I'd be stunned if that holds true for this week.

Both little girl actresses impressed me so much in this episode!

Yeah, series premiere always have high ratings/viewerships since people want to check it out to see if it catches their interest. Honestly, I think ratings are overrated, in my opinion. I know some people that stop watching a series when it gets "boring" or "bad", but then start watching again when it picks up :whatever:

As for the episode, it was really good. I love these emotional episodes since most of them were handled and executed quite well so far. Both actors have a bright future ahead of them as long as they continue giving these solid performances. Brighton Sharbino's performance throughout the season was very convincing of her being a sociopath. Every single action she did was powerful to make you feel uneasy whenever she was around other people. Kyla Kenedy's performance is equally great because she nailed the sweet innocent personality that you just want to protect and care for. I am very excited for the remaining episodes of the season.
