Where can i start the scavanger hunt?

Witcher 3's website usually tells you, but this is my critism for the dlc: It was all cute and fine PR trick to get people like the company, but I would have preferred If we just would have gotten everything at the start.

I would too, though I'm not sure if I'd had cared as much for some of the DLC if it wasn't done this way. Like the alternate Gwent 'Neutral' cards art. I think it was mentioned in the Gamespot preview videos, though, that they were starting to work on this stuff after the game went gold. There's even been a bit of word from them about maybe some of it getting pushed back if they couldn't keep up with the weekly release, though that hasn't happened yet.

That, and I think it's a smart way to keep people coming back and not trade the game in at Gamestop or something, as well as keep the game in gaming news (ie: Kotaku, Gamespot, etc.) and not having a 'came and went' vibe. And there's still the expansion packs...which I'm hoping we can just bring our stuff from the main game into those. The sad thing is, too, that pretty much everything they've released so far would cost something with other games. Even the alternate attire for Triss or Yen would probably cost a $1.00 or something.

Yeah that's true.

I'm still gonna play the game through the hardest diffuculty and whatnot, but things like Wolf armor and whatnot, I wouldn't have minded to have them since launch. /greedy

Glad I'm taking my time with this so most of this DLC stuff is still relevant to my first play through and dont have to start over just for a couple odd missions and some cosmetic stuff.

Good on CDPR for not charging us for these small things regardless. EA would charge you $5 for alternative appearances alone.

Yeah. This stuff is really reminding me of just how sad it is to see some of the nickle and diming on DLC we see, or overpriced some minor stuff is. With the game being such a huge hit, and there being attention on this...hopefully this is an idea more games will steal.

And I'm seemingly taking my sweet ass time. I'm a pretty slow game, though. I've found that I'm almost always on the long end of the expected amount of hours in every game that comes out. Even games that are considered short, I seem to be on the long end of those expected hours.

That...and Gwent. I really, really love Gwent. I could play that game all the time.

Lol same here, Gwent is love, Gwent is life. That has really added another 10-15% of playtime for my run through but then I think this is a massive game anyway, even those that didnt do everything the first time and concentrated on the main story are still coming in at 75-80 hours on their first run, heck I have no intention of doing all the ?'s in Skellige so if you wanted to fully 100% this bad boy your going to be struggling to do it under 100.

I dont usually go slow with games and I cant say I have intentionally done so this time but there is so much to get distracted by and do, 3 hours can pass without completing much more than a side quest or two in this.

Found a nice Game of Thrones easter egg tonight which was a nice surprise too, small but cool.

I can be a completionist, especially on games that I love. I plan on doing everything in this game, either on this playthrough or another. But, with Arkham Knight now a week away...I think this is a game that I'm going to be in for the very long haul. The atmosphere, the storytelling, the side quests and the main quests all feel like things to be experienced because it's all so rich with content and characterizations. It's feeling alot like Skyrim, for me, but with this added layer of incredible storytelling ontop of it. Not that it's like Skyrim, mind you, but the experience I really got from Skyrim was being in this massive world and taking it all in and experiencing it all either by hunting down legendary weapons or looking for specific gear, or questing, or just randomly exploring and stumbling on things.

Which is kind of the craziest thing I can even think of. Getting that type of experience with the extremely enticing carrot on the stick in the form of great writing and storytelling.

2015 is starting to scare me, now. I mean I've still got The Witcher, and I don't want to just rush through the main questline. But, I've got Arkham Knight coming up. And before you know it MGSV will here. And that game's appearing to be an open-world time killer as well.

And then there's Fallout 4.

i already missed like 2 cards...Dandelion and the one in the prologue :(

Yeah, apparently I missed a card from the Baron. They don't really make these things obvious.

I don't really care about Gwent anyway, the main game is too big.

So, according to CDPR messageboards you're supposed to be able to still collect those cards. Atleast, some of them for sure. Not sure about Dandelion. I'm not sure if it's been patched yet, but the merchant from the Prologue who sells a card will be patched somewhere with another merchant.

The Oxenfurt scholar, the one you have the tutorial match with, will have his card under the Hanged Man's Tree where's been killed by (of course) a hanging. It's the one I'm missing right now, but it's not there currently because it needs to be patched. But, at some point in the future his card is supposed to be found there.

The Baron's card is supposed to be on his desk, I think. Or on the floor. But, my understanding is that it's supposed to be at his place where you had the conversation with him during his quest.

Nice armor, very much a Witcher 2 look to it. I need to get further in the main story to be able to get it but looks smart.

Oh damn that's epic. Time to start my death march play through

Starting on the superior wolven set. Looks good. Just figured out you can change difficulty anytime in the game so decided to step up the difficulty for all my post-story stuff.

Yeah, the base armor is supposed to be found in Kaer Morhen, which I'm told is later in the game. So, I think until then I'll stick with the starting Kaer Morhen armor.

I've gotta say, too, because I just got past this sequence a night or two ago. But man, that song by Priscilla, 'The Wolven Storm', is ****ing beautiful. I have no idea if it resonates with non-book readers, but I think because I've read far enough into the novels and know enough about Geralt and Yennefer's history that song was amazing.

Have barely started reading the book but that was one of many stand out moments so far. Knew enough to know it was linked to Geralt and Yen, another moment that makes the world 3 dimensional and "real" with stories from characters past being passed onto others that write about it in song. To be honest though there are so many stand outs its hard to remember them all now, lol. I do remembers Geralt look he gave to Zoltan when the song was played though, a very funny moment.

Should, hopefully, get to Kaer Morhen this weekend so might be able to find my Wolf armor, but will be hard pushed to ditch my Ursine gear, love dat long coat look. Unless I get distracted sailing around Skilliege isles again. :cwink:

I'm finding myself in an interesting situation. With Arkham Knight so close to release, I want to replay Akrham City. And The Witcher 3 is such an enormous game, and I feel like I've barely made a dent in the game. Not sure if I'll try and play it all at once, or put it on the backburner for a minute.

I wonder if you can go back to that brothel and the poor prostitute is tied up because of that stupid Brotherhood of the Fire priest. That is if you chose not to kill him and untie the girl.

hmmm, guess I just HAVE to go back to the brothel now then to check :woot:

Oh my days, there is so much to explore in this game, just got to Kaer Morhen for the first time, not the biggest of areas but still another mass of land to discover with hidden secrets, and really adds a lot to the lore of the world of the Witchers and the extreme things they went through in their trials, this game may last me another few weeks yet, and I thought I was coming to the end, lol.

Sooo many funny moments, UMA and the drinking with Lambert and Eskel literally had me on the floor, some of the funniest stuff I've seen in a game.

I tried it two ways. First I killed the guy and I was able to set the prostitute free. However, that does not reveal the truth of the mystery. You actually have to trick the guy using the mind trick to tell you the truth and you find out the true culprit. However, the situation ends with the guy still there and the poor girl still tied up.

Really liked that quest, a great example of this games quality of side quest. Like a Witcher version of "Se7en", has half expecting the killer to be Kevin Spacey. :woot:

It doesn't have to. You can find the true culprit, set the girl free and kill the dude.
