Oh they're pretty cheap on Amazon and there are some cool novelty ones on there. ;)

if you're going to be downloading 4K stuff, then I'd buy the largest size you can get for your budget.

Oh of course thanks. Yes I'll get the biggest one available, cheers. How large is your one? And what's the largest size you can remember seeing.

I think the largest I've used is 128GB. I also think that's the largest I've seen available. maybe there's a 256GB one?

lately, on my Pro, I've been using a much smaller one ( 32GBs I think ) due to the stupid design flaw of the Pro ( have to use a very thin stick ).

Oh nice to know they go that big. Thought they would be small given how small they look. ;)

Just seen a 512GB one! :woot:

Should be enough for a ****load of film clips. Looking forward to trying.

oh, so you bought the 256gb one?

I'll probably buy one tomorrow. Will get the biggest one I can find. Running out of space is one of my biggest fears. :woot:

My 360 drive is 2TB and my X1 drive is 8TB.

I'll be looking for my favourite 4K film clips and game cut scenes. Like a demo feel to show off my home cinema. ;)

awesome. let me know how it works out playing on your X.

and if you have any questions about those video download apps I recommended, just let me know.

Will do, thanks.

Oh btw can I just use an external hard drive for this?

I think you can, but I think you have to specify if you want to use the drive just for media files or for saving games. I think it has to be either or but not both.

so, you can't just use the external drive with all of your games and store media files on that.

Boring ass restrictions.

yeah, that's why I'd just use a USB stick for media files. unless you plan on storing a **** ton of media files.......lol.

anyways, I saw in the SW thread you were heading out to see TLJ.

did you like it?

It was really good except for 2 things.

I'm really tempted to jump into getting Atmos sounds to see how well it works with games. Have been hearing some good things about it.

a heads up for those who haven't picked up Ori and Blind Forest Definitive Edition yet.

It's on sale on the Xbox/MS store for 40% off for $11.99. Think the sale is good for another 7 days.

Yeah, Ori is an AMAZING game. If you like Metroidvanias, you should pick it up. Can't wait for the sequel.

i might be getting an xbone x soon, just don't wanna pay the full $500 for it

Wondered if anyone had any ideas what this might be.

I just switched from my PS3 to my Xbox One S to watch Blu-Rays. I've been having no end of trouble on my PS3- volume and sound problems, Paramount Blu-Rays specifically not wanting to work and an awful grind when some discs were in the machine.

For the most part, the Xbox One S has been fine, apart from a whirring when 4K discs are in- which I think fades after it runs for a couple of minutes. And more often, you can't hear it over the film anyway, unless the volume is really turned down. I've also found that for my own room and hearing, setting the console up for Mono has been the most satisfactory thing for my hearing. It has, by my ear anyway, made dialogue far clearer at the far end of my room than it was turned off.

But I just popped Stargate in tonight, and the console has decided throughout the film to make a sort of loading sound, and when it does the film freezes for a moment, then carries on. And it does this regularly through the film. If I try to rewind, it struggles to move back over that part of the disc.

I have cleaned it, but that has not helped. I've also not, as far as I know, had the issue with any other discs.

Even stranger, the disc works fine on my old PS3 and on my PS4.

But even the menus act up using the Xbox One S.

And so far, I can't work out what the problem might be.

Overall though- maybe it's all in my head, but I'm finding, so far, picture quality, motion and sound better on my Xbox One S. So, apart from this one issue, I'm happy enough so far. And after buying some 4K films- especially Blade Runner- I'm very happy to be using it.

Overall, though, it's a minor problem that doesn't appear to be happening with anything else. But it feels like I've swapped one problem- PS3 not playing Paramount discs- for another- Xbox One S having an issue with Stargate.

I've heard reports that Xbox S ( and X ) have trouble with certain dvds. just as it seems your PS3 had trouble with certain dvds.

does your S only make the whirring noise when watching dvds? does it do it while playing games or when idle?

the last ( and final ) S I had made a constant ticking noise from the fan. but that was present even when idle and during both games and movies.
