I don't know, thinking maybe we should petition for a ban or something if you don't buy this 1TB Xbone if it's $350-400. Considering how, at one time, I literally saw you fueling three different threads simultaneously with talking about it, I think maybe it's time to pay the piper, son :o

:halo:

Looking forward to MS's E3 press conference but I hope they don't leave too much for Gamescon because of big usual filler stuff during the conference.

My guess would be that we'll obviously see Halo 5 and Gears of War: Ultimate Edtion. The later will follow with a brief tease for Gears of War 4 (or whatever it'll be called). They'll have stuff for the new Fables, Crackdown and Scalebound. Then, of course, ton of indies with a few highlighted. Figure we'll probably see something BLOP III related since COD is usually Microsoft's jam. Rare's project they've been teasing will probably be shown, probably Battletoids. And maybe one last big, "didn't see that coming" surprise.

COD may not be tied to MS this game. Rumors are that it went back to Sony. Nobody knows for sure, though.

Oh well then...I don't know what they'd get to replace COD then, if they try anyway.

I think they need COD. They're still lagging behind, and Sony doesn't even have any major games out yet. If they nab exclusivity to COD, it'll hurt, for sure. I'll probably switch over if it happens. Forza will be the only game that will make me stay. I'm not even messing with Halo anymore. I'm done with 343.

Well, there's no chance Sony will get exclusivity to COD.

Exclusivity on CoD? You know how much that would cost them?! A lot more than Sony could pay them! :woot:

Sony may have 70% of the next gen market share, but Microsoft has 70% of the FPS fans.

CoD makes a good chunk of their sales on MS consoles. There is absolutley NO reason why they would ever make the series exclusive to Sony and Sony doesnt have the money to afford it. Why would they even bother? The PS4 continues to outsell the X1 and since day one it did so without any major titles. CoD exclusivity doesnt really matter

AW sold better on Sony platforms last year though. Ditto on the recent BF: Hardline. The Xbox isnt the default go-to platform for that stuff anymore

I'm not talking about the game only coming out to PS4, I'm talking about exclusivity to DLC, like MS has had for 3-4 years, now. That, and any kind of promotion would be branded as Xbox. Same thing with the Arkham games and PS4.

CoD exclusivity doesnt really matter
Of course it matters. Before BO2, COD was exclusive to Sony, and the PS3 is where most of the people played. Before that, Halo was the big thing for Xbox. A lot of the COD community goes to where the exclusivity lies. From tourney players, to youtubers, etc.

And I'm not saying people wont play it on the X1, but it does make a difference.

Do we have any idea what the proportional percentages were? I would be shocked if they weren't higher on the Xbone.

I thought the highest selling version of Advance Warfare was Xbone. Am I mistaken?

Oh you mean maps. Right, yeah, that's very plausible then.

In NA, but not worldwide. The numbers are pretty similar in NA for both systems, with the X1 being lead, but its not even close in EU

do you understand how much money Sony would have to put forward to get exclusivity to CoD? Again, its not money they have and its not worth it if its going to put them in a hole. They are selling fine without that. So yes I stand by my statement that CoD exclusivity doesnt matter. Theres several things they can do for themselves before they would ever even need to consider that

Damn, I thought Battlefield sold more than that.

I'm not expecting a whole lot of Gears 4 to be revealed but I hope it's more than just a quick cinematic teaser that mostly shows the logo

How much does MS pay? Do you even know?

Sony and MS do these exclusivity deals with games all the time. If they didn't matter, Sony wouldn't do it with Arkham and Destiny, and MS wouldn't care about it for COD. Promotion is promotion, and popular games drive people to systems because of it. But if you don't believe that it matters, I don't know what to tell you.

Hell, this was from a year ago:

[here are rumblings that changes may be afoot in the Call of Duty content clash. While the series has been historically aligned with the Xbox brand, rumours earlier in the year indicated that Sony may be willing to stump up the cash in order to ensure that the property is associated with the PlayStation 4. And speaking on the latest episode of GameTrailers’ popular Pach-Attack show, Wedbush Securities executive Michael Pachter agreed that the platform holder could enter a bidding war with Microsoft in order to secure timed exclusive DLC for the next entry in the blockbuster series.

“The reason that Xbox kept getting exclusivity and Sony didn’t is because Microsoft was willing to pay and the people at PlayStation weren’t,” he explained. “The difference now is that Adam Boyes is in charge of third-party negotiations rather than Rob Dyer, and he would probably like to get DLC exclusivity on the game. The other big change is that Rob reported to Jack Tretton, but now it’s Shawn Layden in charge, so maybe they will decide that it’s worth bidding on.”

Despite EA having their own press conference,They're usually featured on MS's press conferences and so I'm guessing we may be seeing some Madden'16 and Star Wars Battlefront

Exactly how is that working for MS right now with CoD selling close to 2 million more on the PS4 despite them having a deal with Activision?

I don't think it's that surprising, because there's about twice as much PS4s sold compared to X1. I think last I checked, PS4 sold 20 million, while X1 has shipped out 10. No word on actual sold.

So I think it's working out quite fine for MS. That's a good number, for having less than half the install base of PS4.

By your logic though, that gap shouldnt be as big with CoD to push X1 sales, which it doesnt seem to have done

And with the PS4 having about double the amount of units sold as X1 according to you and selling more of the game as it stands anyway, exactly why would Sony feel the need to pay Activision up for CoD exclusivity?

I thought so. A larger percentage of Xbox One owners are buying FPS than PS4 owners. Although it's not as high as I thought.
