The digital titles that you own and are part of the Back Compat game catalog will automatically show up in the Ready to Install section on your Xbox One. For disc-based games that are a part of the Back Compat game catalog, simply insert the disc and the console will begin downloading the game to your hard drive. After the game has finished downloading, you will still need to keep the game disc in the drive to play.

So I can play all my arcade games direct on X1 without redownloading them (as I already have them all stored on a USB external). Also have all my DLCs there. Would be awesome if I could use the same external drive for 360 and X1 (for 360 content at least). Don't think 2TB will be enough to add all the X1 stuff as well.

I'm hearing various reports, some say it's off the disc, others say it's download.

I know one person here has done it with Mass Effect I believe.

My only concern is that companies won't allow Microsoft to add their games. Dishonored is going to be an interesting one.

If you bought the game digitally, than you can DL it digitally. But if all you have is the disc, than you have to install the disc to your system, and play it off that.

And I would imagine you have to re-DL them, cause you're putting it onto your X1.

So, it installs them off the disc and you don't need an internet connect. That's all I needed to know, that's pretty cool.

I don't quite get yet how it will work (sorry if I gave the impression that I did) but the ideal for me would be able to access them from the external USB where I've recently downloaded (and transferred in the case of content that was already on my various xbox hard drives) everything. Any kind of access would be great as one of the big complaints about moving from 360 to X1 was losing all your last gen game-related digital purchases (media-related digital purchases carried over).

With BC, a UI redesign, a new 1TB model, and hot exclusives, I think MS made the most compelling case to get an X1 this year.

I think ( and hope ) that E3 will convince a lot of people that now is the time to get an X1.

Is this really a good decision on Microsoft's part? I think there's a potential market for a premium controller. But 150 clams... that's a lot of money. That's half the cost of a 500 GB Xbox One. Controllers are already grossly overpriced.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting one, but I already have a Scuf, and after tax and shipping, it was still $30 cheaper than the new Elite Controller. And it does all the same things, except I can't adjust my resistance on my sticks.

I dunno, I doubt I'll get one now, unless my Scuf breaks down.

I could see them maybe bundling this for a 100 dollars. But at 150... unless you're a pro gamer, or a rich hardcore gamer... I don't see people buying it.

People have paid that price, and will continue. My scuf controller was 60 bucks for the base and another 80 worth of features. This controller already bundles in 4 interchangeable paddles, and easy to replace sticks. So that convenience really adds to the value compared to having to switch out things like you'd have to do with a scuf.

I'm no pro player but I realized the value of a scuf after Titanfall and the current evolution of gaming as a whole. MS just sees how much money scuf has raked in and want a piece of that action, pro player or casual, there's people who will pay for it.

Sorry if this been discussed, anyone tried the Backwards compatibility out yet? Im installing Mass Effect now and its taking FOREVER. Its only a 7 gig install. Wonder if it just my system or maybe its because the BC functionality is still in beta?
