Oh yeah I forgot I've had issues with some achiements too, I would be expecting some for a game but nothing came up and then while playing another game hours later after I've turned off and on the console, I get pop ups all of a sudden for a couple of achievements for that other game.

Glad It's my console or network connection!

Yep, my X1 finally managed to get back online last night and I got the achievements from games from a few days ago (that I haven't played since).

The disc eject and power button doesn't work on my console at all now, I can turn on/off the console with the controller but there's no way to eject the disc besides pushing the button!?

Finally!!!

X Knight has returned home........to the Xbox One!!

:chd:

Gamescon predictions anyone?

1.) Xbox One/PC Crossbuy coming soon. You buy an Xbox One version of a game? You get the PC version free. You buy the PC version of a game? You get the Xbox One version for free. Shows they're serious not only about PC gaming but Windows 10/XB1 being sibling.

2.) Brand new Battletoads announced. Not sure if it will be a full retail or an awesome, crisp 2.5 20 dollar game. I'd taKe either.

3.) new Viva Piñata announced

4.) Tomb Raider/Halo XB1 1TB bundles announced and revealed.

5.) Quantum Break release day given.

I think we're gonna get a few surprises.. And I suspect to hear a lot on Crackdown and Scalebound obviously. I'm hearing rumors of a new Perfect Dark and Conkers: Another Bad Fur Day.. But I don't want to get my hopes up.

looking forward to Crackdown.

hopefully, it will be a customize/create your own character in an open world environment deal.

soooo.......I'm installing my 1st game - Diablo III.

this time, I tried the trick of putting the X1 offline to speed up the install.

It took about 4-5 minutes before the game was "Ready to Play" and about 20 minutes overall.

that seems.......reasonable?

now, it's downloading the update.

However, I've noticed. While the update is downloading, I can't start the game now?

Is that normal?

Yeah when a game is updating you can't play it.. But.. This is a pretty major update.

ah. thanks.

anyways. so far so good. The X1 is working smoothly and whisper quiet.

I'll have to get used to the X1 dashboard again.

that being said, I do look forward to the UI refresh this fall, and I still hope faster/more efficient installs will be part of the fall update as well.

but, it's good to be back on the X1!! :woot:

I roll a Hunter on Diablo.. I often only get to play late at night or when my kids are napping. Either way I don't often have chat on, lol.

ah, good to know. I only play late at night, too, mainly on the weekends.

it will probably be some time before I get everything set up and then I'll start inviting/adding you guys to my friends list.

then, I'll be on the lookout for ya in Diablo. :)

oh, and I must say, the plain black console is SOOOOOOO much nicer to look at than that Advanced Warfare Console. :o :oldrazz:

there is elegant beauty in simplicity and plainness.........lol.

I need to get a separate hard drive now even though I've bought hardly any games. GWG and other free games alone fill it up so quick. I was trying to get as large as possible but it seems there is a massive price hike at 10TB. Think I'll go for an 8TB although I can foresee that running out one day.

8TB!!

how......how many games do you have!!! lol

IGN's First for August will be Scalebound and the coverage will begin August 6th. I'm guessing tomorrow we'll have a sort of re-reveal of the game to see what type of game it actually is, and this IGN First thing will flesh it out.

I have a 4TB with 12 games on it and I'm at 11% used. Going 8 would legit be wasting your money. You can uninstall games you beat and whatnot.

so.......some questions as to how updates are installed on the X1.

while you are updating the physical game that's inside the X1, can you eject that disc and put in another game disc to play that game, while the 1st game continues to install?

Can the X1 update installed physical games in the background while you have another physical game inside?

I believe the PS4 does that, because it updates other games that I have installed while I have another game disc inside ( the game I'm currently playing ).

For now only a handful as I am still playing catch up and was too busy to play much for the last 18 months (still adds up to 1TB though with all the free ones), but for last gen I've got about 1TB of just 360 DLCs and arcade games, and free retail GWG games. Didn't buy any games digitally at all and I still did 1TB. If you multiply by the size difference of games/DLCs this gen then I'm going to need a lot and that's IF I never go digital in future and never buy other media like 4K Films (which is going to be a big interest of mine as a home cinema guy - tbh will probably just buy discs though for that).

I don't like deleting games as once they're deleted and in need of a reinstall I never replay them. One of my favourite things to do when a new game in a series comes out is to play all its predecessors one after the other for 10 mins at a time, just enough to get the flavour of each and notice the gradual improvements. Especially if you can do something that is roughly the same in all those games like see how a Ryu vs Chun Li fight evolves across games. That kind of thing isn't really possible if you have to reinstall all the games which will take as long as/longer than the nostalgia trip!

yeah. I can imagine how uninstalling/reinstalling games could grow tedious.

especially with all the patches and updates.

It's not that long at all. You don't have to do a full uninstall.. Just the main game. You keep your saves, patches, DLC, etc.
