Count yourself lucky they at least talked to you. When I bought Supergirl the cashier just gave me a weird look like I was a shoplifter or something.:whatever:

It was actually quite funny as we ended up debating about the Donner Cut versus the Lester Cut. I was on team Lester Cut LOL...

I'm already annoyed at the, "Nolan's done it again.", reviews. I love that he was involved with getting this off of the ground and crafting the story, but this is NOT his movie.

Jeremy Jahns's review.

Says he'd buy it on Blu-Ray.

I thought it would start out higher than a 91%. Probably will end up in the low 80's high 70's if I had to take a guess.

I've noticed that the negative reviews often hit first to draw some notice on these kind of films, so I'm not sure where the argument is for it to go so low.

I'd guess it'll end up between 85-88. That puts it into Batman Begins and Dark Knight Rises territory, though it may have a shot at 90% with this start. I doubt it'll reach Dark Knight/Avengers/Iron Man 1 territory - but I think those movies were driven by the actors' portrayal. RDJ in IM1 and Avengers and Ledger's performance in TDK. But I think most people will put it in that top shelf category, above the Captain America's and Thor's of the world (and the new Spidey).

I think it'll have a high Cinemascore. A or A+.

Metacritic is never that high, and always lower than Rotten Tomatoes.

It's mostly for "discerning" critics ("top critics" on Rotten Tomatoes). The Avengers settled in with a final score of 69/100 on Metacritic.

We could all see it coming a mile away, especially with WB heavily advertising his name in the trailers and TV spots. If it turned out good, credit goes to Nolan. If it turned out bad, blame falls on Snyder. In fact, the Variety reviewer even goes out of his way to blame Snyder's direction while comparing it with the Nolan Bat movies.

But at the end of the day, Zack was fortunate to work on this project after 3 flops in a row. Nolan showed a lot of confidence in him considering the state of Zack's career after Sucker Punch. He will get plenty of credit behind the scenes in Hollywood, even if critics and audiences don't understand.

Pretty much the biggest complaints among critics has been the supporting cast isn't developed. Even though I liked the film, I have to agree. Louis Lane was miscast, and the Kents and Perry were underused.

It's LOIS, and not a single one has said she was miscast. Most of those reviews have been praising Adams and Lois' new role in this version.

I'm gonna start gathering everything into one single post.

I don't even think I've seen the entire movie. They had it on the TV in a comic book store near me a few years later, and everyone in the place was just mocking it.

And then they tried to start over with Supergirl, and it was just...

I will be so happy if this new movie delivers...

I still remember seeing a directors cut of Superman IV and the tornado scene :whatever:

Man of Steel: Presented and Directed by Nolan. Score composed and played entirely by Nolan.

In the lead role, Chris Nolan as Superman!

I prefer Metacritic over RT on the whole, but not for the initial reviews, because they're much slower to add them. But I LIKE the fact that they don't just split reviews into positive or negative extremes. For the record, Avengers has a score of 69 on there, so 63 isn't as bad as it sounds, though it should rise substantially once they get around to adding those other reviews.

I've found that the opposite is true. The reviews that are usually counted first/come out first are the positive ones. Heck I remember Spider-man 3 hanging at a solid 95 for a couple of days before it premiered. Even this year it happened again with Iron man 3, the RT score was in the nineties for over a week or so.

I think it is pretty clear this is better than IM 3. At the very least it won't have a plot twist sure to send people into a frenzy. You know like Zod is Superman's half brother or something??

Very true. Whatever gets butts in seats.
After this... the looooooong wait for 'Interstellar'.:hrt:

Goyer cannot write comedy at all anyways, I wonder if WB catches on and brings someone in to help in that department for JLA and MOS2.
Hopefully its not all the needless humor bits like in Ironman 3.

Personally, I dont need humor in these movies. Nolans Batman didnt have a lot, the most was TDK with the joker.

I'm really anxious about these ratings.

I prefer Rotten Tomatoes than MetaCritic because they have more reviews and you can really tell which movie is better based on their ratings unlike with Metacritic.

Metacritic is a better indicator of where critics are leaning on a movie but with a comic book film like Man of Steel RT might be a source. Bloggers and younger people post reviews on the latter.
