#ManofSteel was good...but I can't say it was great. It was easily the summer movie I was looking forward to the most....but still

Hey! This is me!

Haha...yes, I just got back from seeing it from an advanced screening and my brother (who's WAY more into Superman than I really am) had a huge discussion on things we liked about the film...and things we didn't.

We know we liked it...but we don't know if we loved it. There's moments where I felt very disconnected to the characters and some of their actions and things felt a little rushed or not explained....but the action was fantastic and something that Superman needed on film.

Now I'm not saying that's entirely awesome because it did feel at times we were rushing moments to get to action...but the action felt necessary unlike a Michael Bay film which kind of feels all over the place.

I will have a lot more to say but I don't want to get into anything spoilerish just yet....I know I need a second viewing...but it's so far just "good" on my end.

They should have done the credits a different way. Produced by Chris Nolan.. and directed by Zack Snyder. It seems like it was marketed so that the last name people remember is CN. :whatever:

Damned if they do, damned if they don't situation. If they put Nolan's name first, then people would cry foul. If they put it second, now you're crying foul. They could have just left his name out of it entirely of course, but they've gotta answer to shareholders. And if you're a fan who wants more DC films to be produced in the near future, this film needs to be a big success. Whatever it takes to get there, so be it.

Man of steel screening its was great movie but if your a true fan of him you probably will be disappointed, but overall it was good

WB has a lot riding on this, Nolan is tried and true, they want butts in those seats. In time, Snyder will get his due.

The credit good or bad....goes to Zack...

These twitter reactions (Both positive and negative) sound like idiots.

Well, he's currently arguably the hottest director in the world this side of James Cameron. And the GA associates his name with good superhero films. It's hardly surprising why that is.

Hopefully this film will garner enough good will that they won't have to plaster CN's name all over it to sell the sequel (if he remains involved of course).

Yup. I don't blame them. For all the instances where fanboys try to put on marketing hats and blame studios for not marketing a film well enough, they made the right call in this instance from a business perspective.

Although most of these reactions are amazing, it seems like one's like this are like saying I won the $1million lottery, but I didn't win the $30 million one.

No more so, I was thinking the movie was going to be a lot better than it turned out to be. It's fine...but not at the level I originally thought.

...this is even with my hype in check I'd say too.

I just came from a screening of "Man of Steel". It's an awesome film.See it when it hits theaters June 14th.

What are your favorite superhero movies, and where does MoS rank among them?

I got the reactions I wanted last nite from our fellow hypsters.
And since they both loved it, i'm even more excited.

Where do you place it right now in your list of top CBM?

Cool, I didn't really mean to zone in on your reaction, we've seen a few liked it not loved it reactions, yours was just the most recent reaction like that, so I quoted it.

tired of searching all those tweets. Now I will watch green lantern

Oh geeze. This is putting me on the spot...haha

Currently, I think it barely makes the top five....with a second viewing it may get that number five spot...but then again this is also coming from someone who can't give you a proper order on where the placement lies regarding my top five. I do know that TDK and Batman Begins are one and two respectively.

Haha you're fine. No worries. :yay:

see your view make sense unlike other views. I expected LEGITIMATE criticism like this and it was bound to happen. some people like more character buildup than others who want the action more.

I prefer character build-up. But if it's just a strong action-oriented superhero flick, that's still what Superman needs :)

Is it the same kind of disappointment many of us felt when we first saw SR? In fact how would you compare MOS to SR? Is MOS way better or not so much? :whatever:

I get the feeling the biggest debate with this movie will be whether it was great or "just" good.

Not the worst problem in the world to have, really.

Kind of the way people reviewed TDKR and BB..

Hopefully this is the first entry with even better sequels to come..
