Yup, you can see it really well in this picture.

With these pics, it would seem that Batman and Bane are basically evenly matched in terms of size. Not quite Bane being considerably larger than Batman like in the comics, but not a case of Bane being a little pipsqueak that Batman towers over like some feared.

yea. i totally just trusted the whole thing when i saw the shots from yesterday. bane is going to be fine.

Awesome! Is that the same Batsuit as The Dark Knight? Looks a little bit redesigned to me, chunkier, maybe with a bit more gray in it. But maybe that's just my bad memory playing tricks on me.

This should also be a good reference for Batman/Bane size discussion.

Yeah, Bane looks about as tall as Batman to me. Definitely bulkier though.

Yep, I think it's got something to do with that thing that's sticking out of his spine in that first official pic of Bane we got.

Wow! Very nice comparison. Looks like hes Bane afterall. And not deathstroke. Or deadshot.:cwink:

Hardy must be wearing some nice lifts there. He is easily equal to Bale, it's just the Bat-ears that are above him. Add camera trickery and it's a done deal.

That scar is interesting though and should be discussed more. Has Bane been some kind of lab-rat, experimenting on him with Venom?

It could also be pre-venom... if Nolan is going down that road. He did look bulkier in the trailer. My guess is Bane is proving himself to be a real adversary here, what with his strength and intellect, although he's probably to end up losing this fight. But it's not going to be as easy during the second, or possibly even third fight. Batman will be in for a big surprise!

Credit to Subaru for this:

Nice.

Bale looks like he's sweating lol. Him and Hardy must be baking in those costumes on a summer day there. Just think of the millions you're getting paid, lads :cwink:

with a scar like that, there for no obvious reason, venom cannot be ruled out. simple as that.

Batman looks great in costume. Glad to see the batsuit back as much as I'm excited seeing the pics of Bane. This is shaping up to be fantastic.

Hardy also mentioned the exposure that he'll get from being in this movie. It will make him a ton of cash for future projects if he does a great job on this one and becomes a big star.

Ha, Nolan is standing around with his shirt unbuttoned, and his sleeves rolled up, and Bale is sitting there in the heat with a 60 pound suit on, looking like death. :woot:

Nolan had the decency to remove the vest as the ensuing radiating awesome would kill all withing a 2 mile radius.

If Hardy wasn't known before, he's definatly going to be in demand after this film. No doubt. BIG STAR after this film.

Nice pics, especially with the comparison shots from the comics.
Wow, on that picture. Isn't a like incredibly hot right now in Pittsburgh? I bet both of them are miserable.
Maybe there'll be another "It's hot, dark and sweaty and it gives me a headache." crew T-shirt born out of this. :woot:

i wonder if the costumes have cooling systems like ice packs or something…heat stroke can be a huge liability

See, what bugs me is this notion that anyone who likes a creative decision or the look of a character can't actualy like it, but in fact they are only pretending to like it out of blind devotion to Christopher Nolan. Calling anyone who likes something you don't like "apologists" is just as ridiculous as calling anyone who hates something you like saboteurs who are just willing the movie to fail because they secretly hate Batman.

I don't know how "revisionist" this history is, but I remember a lot of discussions on the Batboards in the past:

Ra's is the wrong ethnicity (first with Watanabe, then when we found out he was played by Neeson), he's going to be unrecognisable as Ra's al Ghul!

Liam Neeson's performance is generally well received.

They got some pretty boy kid to play Jonathan Crane! And he isn't even dressed like a Scarecrow! It's nothing like the Scarecrow from the comics!

Cillian Murphy gives us a convincing portrayal of Scarecrow that totally captures the spirit of how he is in the comics.

Heath Ledger's too young! He's too chubby! No way he'll be physically convincing as The Joker!

Then when we got pics of him....

The Joker is supposed to be permawhite! The Joker's hair looks more blonde than green! The Joker doesn't have scars! The Joker's supposed to be classy, not like this hobo Joker! Where are all the prank-themed gadgets? Knives? LAME! JINO! JINO!

Heath Ledger wins an Oscar for a brilliant, definitive portrayal of The Joker.

Can't comment too much on Two-Face, as so much about him was kept under wraps right up until the movie's release. But you get the idea. I've seen this time and time again over the course of this franchise, people panicking that Nolan doesn't have a clue about these characters, that the look is so wrong that there's no way the essence of the character can possibly be captured. If you dare try to defend this crap, you're a blind fanboy sheep apologist. And time and time again, these people are proven wrong.

This.

It's a cycle. I don't know why people don't learn from history. They all have short term memory I suppose.

I thought I remember someone saying that Bale had a refrigerated trailer for TDK, where he can go in and cool down between shots.

Thanks for the pic.

Looks like a f'n joke. Bane is shorter and looks to be the same built/size as Batman. Nolan's roll on doing justice to comic counterparts (Joker, 2Face, and Scarecrow were all amazing) just went down the drain.

This is Bane after the activation of the venom. Pathetic and miserable.
