You probably think you sound all deep saying that personality and motivation is all that matters, but this is a film, not radio, and what you see matters just as much.

I won't speak for Nolan but I bet he would agree. He's a filmmaker after all.

No I wasn't trying to be "deep", I was simply stating that those traits are more important than size as far as I'm concerned. Also, I do in fact understand the importance of "visual imagery", I just won't be butt hurt if Bane isn't towering over Batman.

Not really. In a broad stroke yes, but many villains can be assigned to a borad generalization. But Riddler never caused evacuation of the entire city, never took over the city, never took over every mob in Gotham and never caused Batman to break mentally. Plus Riddler played with puzzles

Part of Bane's look is that he is big, like Joker having a white face red lips and green hair.

Before TDK no one could imagine Joker without perma white skin and gangster suit. After all, there was a negative feedback after the first pic was released. But the core was preserved - the white face and green hair, even if in completely different context. Thats what I think will and can happen with Bane - hes not gonna be a huge guy, hes just gonna be well built. The basic core of having good physique is preserved but toned down to realistic, next door makeover. Like everyone can wear makeup, no one has perma white face (unless you count Jackson). And theres plenty of really well build men, but very few who would literary stop the traffic with giant physique.. I think Bane should be, like Joker, toned down with his visuals

Why are people overlooking the possibility that the small snippet we got of Bane fighting Batman in the "Teaser Trailer" isnt in the very beginning of the movie. And that Bane might change his appearance as the movie goes along and he takes more and more of whatever it is he takes. And that he might kick Batmans butt at first when hes smaller. And intimidate Batman into disappearing as he claims the city and grows larger and larger. Maybe he even modifies the mask to include the tubes and a larger mask.

Because the plausibility of that is weak. Also, we have two different images of Bane's mask now, and they both look to be identical.

I don't think Bruce could be intimidated into that, as long as he's capable, he'll keep on fighting.

Venom doesn't define him completely just something he is known for. The same can be said with Joker's laughing gas or perma white skin. Its something superficial about the character, not their essence.

Bane has extreme brains and extreme brawn. That's what seperates him from the rest of Batman's rogue gallery and makes him so dangerous.

Without extreme brawn Bane is too evenly matched with Batman to humiliate him in a fight.

The best way to illustrate Bane's physical advantage over Batman is to make him much larger.

All I was saying, is that Venom isn't essential to his character. Yes, I know he's taken it before, but his character has been written for many years without it, so IMO, I don't see it as an essential part to Bane. Now, with that said, I do think it'll be included in TDKR.
