They can make him look, say, 25% bigger in a shot if need be. Any adjustments need to be made, and the technology is there.

Who wouldn't want a 6'11 ft 375 lb monster as Bane? It's intimidating, of course.

Yet, when we look at historic warriors like Miyamoto Musashi and Hattori Hanzo. We get an image of a 5'7 ft 145 lb man slaughtering multiple opponents at the same time with ease. It was their technique, prowless, combat I.Q., agility, etc that made them some the most feared individuals in the world. Size never matter.

And it shouldn't matter here as well. Bane might be a mountain of muscles in the comics, but so was Batman. We should stop expecting a man with biceps and forearms that were formed at Mount Olympus, and a woman with C cup breasts (along with a firm mid-sized butt, a coke bottle waist, and a gorgeous face that could seduce every man on the planet) -- on top of having fantastic acting ability.

It's not going to happen, because 95% of society does not possess those attributes in one body.

All I'm asking is that they shoot Tom Hardy so that he will be noticeably taller than Bale as Batman. I'm not asking for the part to be recast with the tallest, most steroid-filled actor you can find.

They're not Bane, though. They're different people. Bane has all that and size.

I don't know why we are comparing Bane to Japanese swordsmen. Isn't that a bit different? Supposedly, most special forces soldiers are smaller than average height. But Bane is supposed to be a sentient representation of overwhelming physical force. The concept is represented much better by a big, muscular guy.

I think Nolan will achieve this by shoving the camera behind Hardy's ass, anyway.

Or will you still be bothered by the fact that you know Hardy isn't as tall as you would like, thus ruining the illusion for you?

Really a catch-22 for Nolan and Co. A lot of fans need to look in the mirror.

Did anyone notice on the shots of Bane reading the speech/ripping up the dent photos how the camera was titled at him at a high angle? This makes him appear larger. They use this technique on Tom Cruise all the time in films. The other cameras were pointed head on at him. I'm not worried about him having an imposing film presence.

I couldn't give a **** what height Hardy is in real life. Most actors and most celebrities are total *****, and don't interest me at all.

Bane should look a bit bigger than Batman, though. The content of the film for which I have sustained years of enthusiasm does interest me, funnily enough!

Whenever I look in the mirror, my mind does camera trickery to make me look stronger than I really am.
